Sofia Milos /səˈfiə ˈmiːloʊs/ (born 27 September 1969) is a Swiss-born Italian/Greek actress. She is best known for her role as Yelina Salas on CSI: Miami. She has also had a recurring role on The Sopranos as Camorra Boss Annalisa Zucca, as well as roles in TV series such as Curb your Enthusiasm, Friends and ER.

Milos was born in Zurich, Switzerland, to an Italian father and a Greek mother. The family moved to Rome, Italy when she was a child. In her teens she entered a local beauty pageant, and after winning first prize went on to win the provincial, regional and national contests as well. Milos studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse in the United States under acting coach Milton Katselas.

Sofia Milos a passé une partie de son enfance à Zurich. Elle est issue d'une famille aux origines diverses : sa mère est grecque, son père italien.

Attirée par la conception et la fabrication de vêtements, elle commence une carrière de mannequin qui va s'étaler sur une dizaine d'années. Elle fera la couverture de nombreux magazines plus ou moins connus comme Vogue, Annabelle ou Voila.

Ses activités professionnelles ne l'ont jamais éloigné de ses passions que sont la cuisine et la peinture, art dans lequel elle décline son sujet favori : la femme par son visage ou par son corps.

Sofia Milos parle couramment l'anglais, l'italien, le français et l'allemand (y compris le suisse allemand ) et peut également tenir une conversation de base en grec et en espagnol.

Elle est membre de l'Église de Scientologie.


Carrière
Sofia Milos apparaît pour la première fois à l'écran en 1993, dans la série américaine Café Américain, diffusée sur NBC en 1993 et 1994. Puis suivent des rôles aux importances diverses dans des téléfilms ou des séries (Strange Luck et Vanishing Son en 1995, Life with Roger en 1996)

En France, c'est dans la série Friends qu'on la découvre, dans le rôle d'Aurora, la petite amie de Matthew Perry. Viendra un rôle plus important dans Les Soprano (2000), où elle interprète Annalisa Zucca. Mais c'est avant tout la dans série produite par Jerry Bruckheimer, Les Experts : Miami, qu'elle bénéficiera d'une large notoriété, dans le rôle du détective d'origine colombienne Yelina Salas.

Celia Amonte (Sofia Milos) is a Portuguese American widow who lives in New Bedford, Massachusetts with her daughter Vicky (Emmy Rossum). The broke British card counter Charles "Charlie" Beck (Jason Isaacs) arrives in town to stay with and mooch off some wealthy friends and gamble at the local casino. The friends are Daniel Vargas (Seymour Cassel) and his wife Lois Vargas (Theresa Russell). One night, dining at a Portuguese restaurant with Lois, Charlie sees Celia singing fado, a haunting Portuguese form of song. He is enchanted with her, approaches her, and is rebuffed. Charlie later finds Celia's address in the phone book and goes to her house, where he encounters Vicky, whom he had met at the casino before. Vicky agrees to help Charlie woo her mother in exchange for lessons on card counting. This proves difficult, as Celia still longs for her deceased husband and has not dated since his death.

The film opens in 1099 at the end of the First Crusade, depicting Christian Crusaders sacking Jerusalem and slaughtering the local population. One of the Christian knights, Charles Le Vaillant (Jean-Claude Van Damme), becomes demoralized by the horrors of war, and decides to create a new religious order. This new order brings together members from the three main religions of the region: Christians, Jews, and Muslims. As a self-imposed leader and messiah, Charles writes the sacred texts of the Order. He is subsequently accused of heresy by the Christian church, who attack his stronghold, killing Le Vaillant. During the attack, the last chapter from their religious text becomes lost in the desert after he buried it in a secret place.
