Robinson's mother, Rachel, has stated that her son followed the footstep of his older brother Bryce, and started getting involved in acting after Bryce was cast in the movies Marley & Me and Valentine's Day. Both brothers have been in films where they played the son of Jennifer Aniston's character.
Robinson played Leo Sheppard in the police drama series, The Protector and Sebastian in the romantic comedy film The Switch. In 2015, Robinson co-starred in Tomorrowland, as the younger version of Frank Walker (George Clooney).

The story begins with an adult Frank Walker telling an off-screen audience about his attendance at the 1964 New York World's Fair as a child. In the flashback, he meets David Nix, an official who is unimpressed with Frank's limited jet pack. Frank does draw the attention of a young girl named Athena. Seeing his potential, Athena gives Frank a pin embossed with a "T" symbol and tells him to follow her aboard the fair's "It's a Small World" attraction. Frank sneaks onto the ride, where his pin is scanned and he is transported into a futuristic cityscape known as Tomorrowland. He falls from a ledge, but straps on his jet pack and lands safely before Nix and Athena.

Thirty-something Kassie Larson (Aniston) is single, hasn't found love yet, and decides she wants to have a baby. Despite the objections of her neurotic long-time best friend Wally Mars (Bateman), she chooses to do so alone because she can't wait any longer. She also wants a face-to-face sperm donor, disdaining using a sperm bank. Wally suggests he be the donor, but Kassie sees him as a bit too neurotic, pessimistic, and self-absorbed, and besides, as best friends, "that would be weird." Wally has always had feelings for Kassie, and they dated six years ago, but his friend Leonard (Goldblum) points out he missed his chance when she put him in the "friend zone".
