Vernon Campbell (born April 4, 1961) is an American film actor. His thick set, stocky build and bald head has seen him play almost entirely police detectives or bodyguards.
He appeared in the 1995 Academy Award nominated film 12 Monkeys alongside Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. In 1997 he appeared in the film Night Falls on Manhattan a film which starred Andy García and James Gandolfini.
He is probably best recognized as Dave Chappelle's kind natured, ill-fated bodyguard in an episode of Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes. In that particular episode, the bodyguard is shot by the I.R.S. and in his dying words, the guard tells Dave that it was man who shot him but Dave's greediness is what killed him. Before his death, the guard tries to tell Dave the key to keeping the show's material fresh but dies before he can say it. He stammers "You gotta.

Living on City Island, in the Bronx, Vince Rizzo (Andy Garcia), a prison guard, is the father of a dysfunctional family whose members all have secrets. When a mission to retrieve a stolen suitcase bomb goes bad, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent Kevin Pope (Rock) is killed. In Brooklyn's Crown Heights, where West Indian Rastafarians and other Blacks live next door to the Jewish Chabad community, ethnic tensions are high. In New York City, the Bonwit Teller department store is destroyed by a bomb during the morning commute. The New York City Police Department receive a call from a man calling himself "Simon", ordering them that suspended police officer Lt. John McClane be dropped in Harlem wearing a sandwich board that says "I hate niggers" and threatening to detonate another bomb if they don't comply. They collect McClane and follow Simon's instructions; McClane is saved from a potential attack by a group of young men by Zeus Carver, a nearby shop owner. McClane and Carver escape and return to headquarters, where Simon calls again and threatens to detonate more bombs if McClane and Carver do not follow his instructions.
