Yang Dong-geun (Hangul: 양동근; born June 1, 1979) or YDG is a South Korean actor and hip-hop artist. Yang majored in Theatrical Performance at Yong-in University
Yang enlisted for mandatory military service in May 2008 for 21 months of active duty. During which time he starred in military musical, Mine with Kangta. It is about the true life story of Lieutenant Lee Jong-myung, who lost his legs in a land mine explosion near the demilitarized zone, in June 2000, when he saved fellow soldier, Sul Dong-seob from the minefield.
His comeback project after being discharged from the military was in film Grand Prix with Kim Tae-hee. He was cast as male lead Lee Woo-suk after Lee Joon-gi had to pull out when the Military Manpower Administration declined his application to postpone enlistment for military service.

En 2004, il incarne le rôle de Choi Bae-dal et joue aux côtés de l'acteur japonais Masaya Kato et de l'acteur sud-coréen Jung Doo-hong dans le film, Fighter in the Wind, basé sur le manga Karate Baka Ichidai de Ikki Kajiwara, inspiré de la vie réelle de Masutatsu Ōyama.

Pendant cette période, il a joué dans la comédie musicale militaire, Mine avec Kangta. Le 31 mars 2013, il signe avec l'agence Polaris Entertainment en compagnie de l'acteur Jeong Joon.
Yang Dong-geun incarne le rôle de Heo Seung-po, inspiré du personnage fictif, Porthos dans la série télévisée The Three Musketeers, basé sur le roman de Alexandre Dumas, Les Trois Mousquetaires.

At the tail-end of World War II, Choi Bae-dal is a young Korean man who longs to be able to fly fighter planes. It is set in the South Korean countryside around a U.S. military base, and particularly involves the villages that are affected by its presence.
