Yūko Odagiri (小田切 悠子, Odagiri Yūko, born February 16, 1987 in Kanagawa, Japan), known by her stage name Yuu Kashii (香椎 由宇, Kashii Yuu), is a Japanese actress and model. She studied at Mejiro University, where she majored in English. She married actor Joe Odagiri, who is exactly 11 years her senior, on February 16, 2008, the birthday the couple shares. She reportedly gave birth to a baby boy in February 2011.
Kashii's maternal grandfather is a European-American newspaper reporter, and thus her ethnic background is ¼ European. Due to this, her looks have an exotic Eurasian feel. Kashii spent her childhood in Singapore and attended elementary school there. She has been said to have exactly the same dimensions for her right and left side of the face which led to a German doctor wanting to use her face as a specimen for research uses.
Kashii got her start in the entertainment business as an in-house model for the Japanese teen magazine mc Sister in 2001. Her first acting role was in the movie adaptation of Lorelei: The Witch of the Pacific Ocean in which she played the title character.

Light Yagami is a Japanese college student whose life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground. A group of high school girls have formed a band to perform at their high school cultural festival in three days' time, but the guitarist and singer have quit. The remaining members, Kei Tachibana (立花恵, Tachibana Kei), Kyoko Yamada (山田 響子, Yamada Kyōko), and Nozomi Shirakawa (白河望, Shirakawa Nozomi), decide to perform covers of Blue Hearts songs, but need to find a new singer. They ask the first girl that walks by: Son (ソン), a Korean exchange student who is not fluent in Japanese. The first day ends with all the girls working their hardest to learn their parts.
