A race of extraterrestrials called Mimics has taken over continental Europe. Four gifted street magicians—J. For the finale of their first show, they declare they will rob a bank, and invite audience member Étienne Forcier, an account holder at the Crédit Républicain de Paris, to do it. Forcier is apparently teleported to his bank in France, where he activates an air duct that vacuums up the money and showers it onto the Las Vegas crowd. Upon the discovery that the money really is missing from the bank vault, FBI agent Dylan Rhodes is called to investigate the theft and is partnered with Interpol agent Alma Dray. They arrest the Horsemen, but are forced to release them due to lack of evidence.

Four years after Kirk's promotion in 2259, the starship USS Enterprise studies a primitive culture on the planet Nibiru. Captain James T. Kirk and his First Officer, Commander Spock, save the planet's inhabitants from an extinction-threatening volcanic eruption, but Kirk violates the Prime Directive, exposing the Enterprise to the native inhabitants to save Spock's life. Returning to Earth, Kirk loses command of the Enterprise and Admiral Christopher Pike is reinstated as its commanding officer with Kirk demoted to first officer and the rank of Commander. For his part in the incident, Spock is reassigned to another ship. An officers' meeting is called to discuss the bombing of a Section 31 installation in London perpetrated by the renegade Starfleet operative John Harrison (Cumberbatch). Harrison attacks the meeting in a jumpship, killing Pike. Kirk disables the jumpship, but Harrison uses a portable transporter to escape to Kronos, the homeworld of hostile aliens known as Klingons.

Not long after Megatron's demise and the restoration of Cybertron, the Autobots celebrate as Bumblebee is promoted to warrior class by Optimus Prime. The festivities end, however, when Optimus sets out on a journey to find the AllSpark, the source of new life on Cybertron, and takes Wheeljack with him to find it so that new Transformers can come into being. Ultra Magnus is left in charge in Prime's absence to hunt down the missing Starscream, Shockwave, and Predaking with the other Autobots. Meanwhile on Earth, at the bottom of the ocean, Megatron's consciousness is reawakened by Unicron, who seeks to destroy his arch-enemy Primus, the very core of Cybertron, and requires Megatron's body to do so. Unicron reformats Megatron into a body with new upgrades before heading to Cybertron. In the meantime, Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen continue to search for the fugitive Decepticons in the Sea of Rust, but are soon attacked by the Predacons Skylynx and Darksteel. After a brutal fight, Magnus is severely damaged and Smokescreen barely makes it through the space bridge with him. The damage is so critical that the Autobots are forced to call in Ratchet from Earth for assistance while the Autobots deduce that the two new Predacons must be creations of Shockwave. Meanwhile, Starscream and Shockwave are revealed to have restarted "Project: Predacon" and plan to create an army with Skylynx and Darksteel being their first creations.

Jake beats up the posse sent to take him in and nearly escapes, but a mysterious woman named Ella Swenson (Olivia Wilde) knocks him out. Taggart prepares to transport both Jake and Percy to Santa Fe for trial.

After learning she is about to be deported to Canada because she violated the terms of her work visa, she persuades her assistant, Andrew Paxton, to marry her. She reminds Andrew that if she's deported, the work he put in as her assistant will be lost, and he'll be set back in his dream to become an editor. Mr. Gilbertson, a U.S. immigration agent, informs them that he suspects they are committing fraud to avoid Margaret's deportation. Gilbertson tells them that they'll be asked questions about each other separately. If their answers don't match, Margaret will be deported to Canada permanently and Andrew will be convicted of a felony punishable by a $250,000 fine and five years in prison. Andrew insists that Margaret make him an editor after their marriage and publish the book he's been recommending to her. Margaret agrees.
