Relativity Media LLC (sometimes written as RelativityMedia and Relativity) is a global media company located in Beverly Hills, California. Founded in 2004 by Ryan Kavanaugh, the studio is the third largest mini-major film studio in the world. Its full scale film studio acquires, develops, produces and distributes films, and produces television programs. The company's partners and financial institutions have invested $20 billion as of 2012 in entertainment investments with partners such as Citibank, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and others. Relativity Media also works in fashion, sports, digital and music.


On July 30, 2015, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after lawsuits and missing loan payments. However, the studio plans to go through with the release of Kidnap.

The personalities of three neighborhood teens, Alex, Tuck and Munch, clash as they receive cryptic encoded messages on their cell phones which contain maps to a crashed alien. The friendly alien needs specific parts to repair itself and lures the boys to help it by following maps sent to their cell phones. They are all closely tailed by the usual shadowy government agents who plan to trap the alien for dissection. As the boys (and later, a girl named Emma who joins them) befriend the little E.T., they name him "Echo" due to its ability to echo sounds. After being caught and escaping the government agents, the crew takes a newly repaired Echo to the buried bridge of its ship. They say goodbye and escape to the surface as the rest of the ship assembles itself by pulling parts up from the ground and reassembling itself above their neighborhood.

Dawson Cole (James Marsden) works on an oil rig off the coast of Louisiana. One day, an explosion on the job nearly kills him, throwing him into the water, but miraculously, he survives. Meanwhile, Hesketh Racing, the fledgling racing team Hunt drives for, enters Formula One as well. Lauda then joins Scuderia Ferrari with Regazzoni and wins his first championship in 1975. Hesketh closes shop after failing to secure a sponsor, but Hunt joins McLaren when Emerson Fittipaldi leaves the team. During this time, Hunt marries supermodel Suzy Miller, while Lauda develops a relationship with German socialite Marlene Knaus.
