Toei Company, Ltd. (東映株式会社, Tōei Kabushiki-gaisha) (pronounced toe ay) is a Japanese film, television production, and distribution corporation. Based in Tokyo, Toei owns and operates thirty-four movie theaters across Japan, studios at Tokyo and Kyoto; and is a shareholder in several television companies. It is notable for anime, live action dramas known as tokusatsu which use special visual effects, and historical dramas (jidaigeki).

The name "Toei" is derived from the company's former name "東京映画配給 (Tōkyō Eiga Haikyū)" (Tokyo Film Distribution Company).

This anime film tells the story of the god Susano'o (as a cute boy), whose mother Izanami has died. He is deeply hurt by the loss of his mother but his father Izanagi tells him that his mother is now in heaven. Despite Izanagi's warnings, Susano'o eventually sets off to find her. Along with his companions, Akahana (a little talking rabbit) and Titan Bō (a strong but friendly giant from the Land of Fire), Susano'o overcomes all obstacles in his long voyage. He eventually comes to the Izumo Province, where he meets Princess Kushinada, a little girl whom he becomes friends with (he also thinks that she is so beautiful that she looks like his mother). Kushinada's family tells Susano'o that their other seven daughters were sacrificed to the fearsome eight-headed serpent, the Yamata no Orochi. Susano'o is so infatuated with Kushinada that he decides to help her family protect her and slay the Orochi once and for all and he, Akahana and Bō prepare for the showdown.

Astronomer Shinichi Tachibana, has a secret identity as superhero "Iron Sharp" (changed to "Space Chief" in the English dub) and has many children as friends. When they are attacked by a group of metallic aliens ("Neptune Men" in English), Iron Sharp drives the aliens away. Tachibana is also resourceful, as he helps develop an electric barrier to block the aliens from coming to the Earth. After several losses by the aliens, they announce that they will invade the Earth, throwing the world into a state of panic. As they invade the aliens destroy entire cities with their mothership and smaller fighters. Iron Sharp destroys multiple enemy ships and Japan fires a nuclear missile at the mothership, destroying it.

Alakazam is a young and brave monkey (a macaque) who has been encouraged by all the other monkeys to become their king. After attaining the throne, he becomes rude and dictatorial, and does not believe that human beings are greater than he is. Then he tricks/forces Merlin the magician to teach him magic (reluctantly on Merlin's part, who warns Alakazam that the powers he acquires now will bring him much unhappiness later).

En Birmanie pendant la Guerre du Pacifique, Tsuruta et Oki se retrouvent seuls dans la jungle après que leur compagnie s'est fait décimer. Ils finissent par tomber sur le sergent Aoji qui les mène au campement de son régiment. Le soldat Oki, professeur de littérature française avant la guerre, retrouve-là Goro Maki un de ses anciens étudiants. Ils sont nombreux dans ce campement de soldats en guenilles et affamées à être d'anciens étudiants qui se sont portés volontaires pour partir au front. Les officiers de carrière qui les mènent n'ont que mépris pour ces intellectuels et se gardent bien de partager leurs rations avec eux. Lorsque l'ordre tombe de rejoindre des positions qu'il faudra tenir jusqu'à la mort, les blessés et malades trop diminués pour marcher sont abandonnés avec une grenade chacun et l'ordre de se faire exploser plutôt que de se faire prendre par l'ennemi. Les valides rejoignent leurs dernières positions de combat et se font décimer tandis que leurs officiers les abandonnent à leur sort et prennent la fuite.

Professor Yamatone and his family visit present day Egypt, and discover an ancient tomb that apparently belonged to a "god of justice, (and) protector of the weak". When the Professor was later taken captive by "Gorgo", agent of the evil Dr. Erich Nazō (ナゾー) (also known as Dr Zero), the Professor's daughter Mari, pleaded for "the god of justice" to save her father. As she began to cry, her tears fell into the ancient tomb, reviving Ogon Bat, who came to her help. From then on, the little girl would always call on the Ogon Bat to fight against evil - usually in the form of Doctor Zero.
