It started as Home Video distribution and gradually forayed into film production & theatrical distribution. It is also engaged in multiple aspects of entertainment, including post production service and film distribution. Ultra has a library of over 1500 titles of award winning and blockbuster feature films, TV Dramas, Animation, Music and digital content. The company is into post production services such as Scanning, Restoration, Colorization, 2D to Stereoscopic 3D Conversion and Merchandising.

The story focused on two friends, Somu (Rajesh Khanna) and Vicky, and how Somu tries to infiltrate the trade union of his friends. Amitabh Bachchan plays a rich man's son, Vicky, who has a fight with a union leader and later sends his best friend Somu to grow bigger than the previous union leader. Somu starts getting influenced by the ideals of workers which leads to confrontation between the two friends. This story concentrates on the rise of unions with the backdrop of Mumbai's textile mills and inflation in the early '70s.

Ashok Tandon (Dharmendra) is a bank manager, and is in love with Deepa (Raakhee), and both are to be married soon. However, Ashok is arrested for theft from the bank. He asks Deepa to look after his mom (Leela Chitnis), which she agrees to do. He is sentenced to prison for several years. After his release he finds out that his mother has died; Deepa is married and has re-located; and he was framed by his colleagues at the bank. Devastated but still honest, he is befriended by Raja Ranbir Singh, who gives him a job, as well a new identity. Ashok now becomes Bikram Singh, and he must seek out Deepa, and his shrewd and calculating colleagues at the bank to extract vengeance.
