UTV Software Communications est un groupe de média indien fondé en 1990 et dirigé par Ronnie Screwvala. À l'origine orientée vers le cinéma et la distribution cinématographique, la société s'est diversifiée dans la télévision (production et distribution), dans l'animation en 1998 et à partir de 2007 dans les médias numériques : jeux vidéo et sites web.
La société était cotée à la Bourse de Bombay depuis le 17 mars 2005. La filiale britannique UTV Motion Pictures était cotée au Alternative Investment Market de la Bourse de Londres. Depuis 2012, son principal actionnaire est la Walt Disney Company avec plus de 90 % du capital, les actions n'étant plus cotées. L'achat par Disney fait suite à une longue campagne d'achat ou de participation dans la maison-mère ou les filiales d'UTV. Les activités d'UTV recoupent peu ou prou l'ensemble des activités de Disney, hormis les parcs de loisirs.

L'action se déroule à l'époque de la civilisation de la vallée de l’Indus, au XXIe siècle av. J.-C., dans l'une des plus anciennes villes du monde, Mohenjo Daro. La ville est gouvernée par Maham, le chef du sénat. Malhonnête et très cruel, sa cupidité est sur le point de détruire la cité. Sarman (Hrithik Roshan), un jeune et courageux cultivateur d'indigo, se rend à Mohenjo Daro pour y échanger ses produits au marché. Il tombe alors amoureux de Chaani (Pooja Hegde). Fille d'un chef religieux, il lui a été prédit qu'elle serait à l’origine d’une nouvelle société. À sa naissance, elle a été promise à Moonja (Arunoday Singh), le fils de Maham. À l’issue d'une épreuve de force entre les deux hommes, Sarman va non seulement apprendre sa véritable identité et la raison de son lien fort à Mohenjo Daro mais aussi mettre en place le nouvel ordre, même si cela signifie sacrifier la vieille ville aux mains de la divinité de la rivière.

Sathyanathan (Nedumudi Venu) is a typical middle class man who has just retired. He wants to buy a plot of land in the city and move in with his wife and children - Uppilinathan(Karthik Kumar), Vishwanathan and Sindhu. But his son Uppilinathan - who is a software engineer - has no interest in the house and is keen to leave India for New York, where he has obtained a job. Sathyanathan buys the plot from "World Famous Properties" which is managed by Vijayakumar(Cochin Hanifa). When he goes to break stone to build his house, he finds a compound wall erected over his plot with the nameplate saying "Baby Properties". After numerous attempts to meet him, Sathyanathan finally meets Baby who wants him to pay half the amount paid for the plot to be paid to Baby in order to vacate the plot. The Sathyanathans try to think of solutions and finally resort to hiring thugs to break the compound at night. Sathyanathan is arrested the next morning. Through all this, Uppilinathan's attitude towards his father's problem changes when he sees how attached he is to the property. Uppili meets a travel agent Asifbhai (bosskey) who was baby's assistant and cheated by him . Uppili with help of his girlfriend convince Daddy (mouli), who is a stage actor and got 136 awards, to act as Varma, an NRI businessman from Dubai who has to India to sell a plot which actually belongs to fisheries board of govt. At last the fishery land is given to Baby and the family get their land.The film ends with family of Sathyanathan living happily ever after. Baby's assistant Johnny reveals there is no man in the name of Varma. Baby acknowledges that he has been cheated and decides cover it up to preserve his reputation.
