Sexilia ("Sexi") is a pop star and sex addict; Riza is the gay son of the Emperor of Tiran (a fictional Middle Eastern country). Both are strolling around Madrid's flea market, aiming to pick up lovers. Sexilia takes two men for an orgy, where she is the only woman. In the hope of curing her nymphomania and her fear of the sun, she is undergoing psychotherapy. However, her psychoanalyst, Susana, is far more interested in sleeping with Sexila's father, Doctor de la Peña, a gynecologist specializing in artificial insemination. As the doctor is frigid, Susana does not have a chance with him. One of Doctor de la Peña's patients is Princess Toraya, the ex-wife of the former Emperor of Tiran. Flicking through a magazine, Toraya discovers that her stepson Riza Nero is also in town. Thanks to treatment by Sexilia's father, Toraya is now fertile for the first time in her life. Since the emperor's sperm is currently unavailable to her, she will settle for that of his son, Riza, whom she attempts to track down.

Michel is a Belgian inventor. He cares for his father, a paralysed writer, is married to a Congolese woman and is the father of an interracial child whom he reassures as to his parentage. He discovers at the age of 41 that he was adopted, actually having been born in Sainte-Cécile, Quebec. In the summer of 2000, he travels to Quebec, supposedly to sell some of his inventions. While on a near-impossible quest to find his birth family in the town where he was born, he crosses paths with Louis Legros, son of another inventor, in a meeting which will change their lives.

Des politiciens corrompus se réunissent chez Vincent Padovani, un parrain de la mafia. Accusé de viol, Ghislain est interrogé toute une nuit par des policiers. Solitaire et timide, il refuse d’abord toute collaboration mais il finit par livrer en flash-back, les circonstances impensables dans lesquelles il a rencontré sa supposée victime. En fait, jusqu’à cette terrible nuit, Ghislain vivait en ermite, dans une routine serrée, avec le seul blues pour passion et son travail de nuit… Dans le même temps, on assiste au parcours de Linda qui a pour unique but de partir vivre à la campagne avec sa fille Charlotte. Pour trouver l’argent, elle use de toutes sortes de fraudes : encaisse les chèques de sécurité sociale, dépouille des hommes qu’elle a d’abord séduit, vole des cartes qu’elle revend, jusqu’à sa rencontre d’un touriste américain qui s’en prend à elle. Deux vies qui n’avaient rien en commun, deux destins qui avaient peu de chance de se croiser avant que l’on apporte à la morgue où travaille Ghislain le cadavre de Linda. Les circonstances troubles dans lesquelles s’opère cette croisée de leurs destinées sont le théâtre d’une bascule dans la vie pour un et dans le désir pour l’autre.
