A Second Knock at the Door is a documentary on friendly fire in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The film follows military families after they are told their family member died in a "fratricide" incident.
All the families profiled in the film only learned their family member was killed by a comrade, not an enemy, months after they first learned of their death.

Director Christopher Grimes has described being inspired by the official coverup that former sport star Pat Tillman was killed by his comrades.

The film was screened at the Flyway Film Festival in 2011, and the East Lansing Film Festival in 2012.

Cette contribution à l'effort de guerre américain, réalisée en Technicolor, est une sorte de poème impressionniste faisant une description minutieuse de la position géographique des lieux et surtout des conditions de vie des soldats. Avec une équipe du Signal Corp., Huston se rendit pendant l'automne et l'hiver 1942 dans les îles Aléoutiennes, point de départ des raids américains sur les bases japonaises de Attu et de Kiska. C'était un archipel balayé par des tempêtes continuelles dont les images donnent une vision terrifiante des conditions de vie des soldats et d'atterrissage des avions. Par cette description humaine, Huston montre sa profonde admiration, non pour la guerre en elle-même mais pour le courage des hommes qui y étaient mêlés.

Before the film, several text cards explain bombers and the Royal Air Force chain of command. The film begins with an observation aircraft flying over and dropping a box of undeveloped film. Bomber Command develops the film and analyzes the resulting photographs, which are presented for the audience to see. There has been a massive build-up by German forces in the subject area for the past few months. The film shows the planning of the mission, even detailing how the bomber wing chooses munitions for the task. The weather forecast is expected to be good and the pilots are briefed. The crew of "'F' for Freddie", the bomber that is the focal point of the film, suit up and take off. While over Germany, the crew bombs the target, dead on for one bomb but their aircraft is hit by flak from "faceless" anti-aircraft gunners. The radio operator is hit in the leg and Freddie is the last aircraft to return. Mist covers the water, prompting worry at the Command. Meanwhile, Freddie cannot climb after the flak hit. They are not losing altitude but are in a bad situation. Tension builds in the film until finally, 'F for Freddie' lands. No aircraft are lost and the mission is a complete success.

16 avril 1746. La bataille de Culloden, dans les landes marécageuses de l'Écosse.
