Synopsis
Shanu Singh lives a middle-class lifestyle with his dad, Rahul, and mom, Shivani. Rahul is a magician and performs Houdini-like tricks. Once while being locked in an iron cask and thrown into the sea, he does not surface and everyone believes he is dead, leaving Shanu to become a waiter in Dilbaug's Dhaba, while Shivani becomes a governess to Pinky, who is the daughter of Sindhi businessman, Maneklal. Shanu and Pinky wins Parle-G and Camlin Pencils contest and are enrolled in Aabra Ka Daabra - the school of magic, that was founded by Sage Adityanand, which is now run by a magician Rang Birangi, who has enormous magical powers.Actors

The movie begins with Chandu (Siddharth Narayan) and Siri (Shruti Haasan) as childhood friends. Chandu and Siri call each other "Faltoos" and "Killer", respectively, affectionately. Their friendship remains intact even as they grow up. Chandu who was sent to mumbai to do MBA, instead learns music and returns home which leads to agony of his father. However, Siri convinces Chandu's father that it is her responsibility to take care of Chandu's career. They go for an audition there they get a fight with a band and he is sent out of the audition. Prior to that, Siri accepts the love proposal by Uday (Navdeep), who lives in US after consulting Chandu. Later, Chandu and Siri accidentally meet their common friend in college, Ritu Sharma (Hansika Motwani) and Chandu falls in love with her at first sight. Chandu starts spending time with Ritu to impress her, but Siri feels that she is being avoided. Siri decides to leave for a dancing School at Chennai. Meanwhile, Ritu accepts Chandu's love proposal. When Siri is about to leave, Chandu apologises her that he had not noticed that she was being avoided. At the same time, Uday comes back from US to surprise her. Hence, she decides not to leave.

Durgeshwari Devi (Hema Malini) is a very rich and proud lady. She stays in her palace-like home with her two sons Dheeraj and Neeraj, her daughter Rekha (Madhuri Dixit), her brother, nicknamed DDT (Anupam Kher), and his close friend, nicknamed BBC (Satish Kaushik) along with her personal secretary, Shakti. Rekha studies in a medical college in Bombay. Durgeshwari Devi has full control over her home and company and is feared by all. Her ambitions of wedding Rekha in a rich family like hers seem to fail when Rekha falls in love with Raja (Anil Kapoor). Raja is an unemployed, poor but smart and educated man. Durgeshwari seeing him to be a smart fellow puts a condition for agreeing to the marriage which would humiliate him and thus back out. She asks Raja to live with them after the marriage and not other way round where the bride goes to live at groom's home.

Naive and easily influenced Ajay Prasad has been married for several years, and lives in remote India with his wife and a son. The family receive an invitation to attend a wedding in Bombay. As Mrs. Prasad and their son are unable to attend, Ajay is asked to attend on his own, which he agrees to do so. Following the events in Nagina, Nigahen is the story of Neelam, the daughter of Rajiv and Rajni. After the tragic car accident of her parents, Neelam is raised by her grandfather in the city and is finally brought back to her ancestral home in the country, as a young adult (who bears a striking resemblance to her mother, also played by Sridevi). There, she encounters and falls in love with Anand who as a child was kidnapped by Gorakh Nath, a powerful Tantrik. Claiming to have amnesia of the events, Anand woos Neelam and she falls in love with him. Little does Neelam know that Anand does not have amnesia and is working for Gorakh Nath: the Tantrik has set his eyes on a powerful gem (Mani), which grants the one who possesses it great powers. The only person who knows its whereabouts is Neelam, who unbeknown to her, was hypnotized by her late mother's Guardian Snakes into going to the old temple from the original story, and locating the gem (an event witnessed by Gorakh Nath).

In a kingdom stricken with drought for past few years, Arvasu (Milind Soman), a brahman loves Nittilai (Sonali Kulkarni) a tribal girl, who seeks approval of her father and village's elders before marrying him.
