Nigahen: Nagina Part II is an Indian Fantasy film directed by Harmesh Malhotra and released in 1989. The movie stars Sridevi, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Gulshan Grover. It is the sequel to the Sridevi starrer blockbuster Nagina. It is the first Bollywood movie sequel. However, as the movie performed moderately at box office.

Synopsis

Following the events in Nagina, Nigahen is the story of Neelam, the daughter of Rajiv and Rajni. After the tragic car accident of her parents, Neelam is raised by her grandfather in the city and is finally brought back to her ancestral home in the country, as a young adult (who bears a striking resemblance to her mother, also played by Sridevi). There, she encounters and falls in love with Anand who as a child was kidnapped by Gorakh Nath, a powerful Tantrik. Claiming to have amnesia of the events, Anand woos Neelam and she falls in love with him. Little does Neelam know that Anand does not have amnesia and is working for Gorakh Nath: the Tantrik has set his eyes on a powerful gem (Mani), which grants the one who possesses it great powers. The only person who knows its whereabouts is Neelam, who unbeknown to her, was hypnotized by her late mother's Guardian Snakes into going to the old temple from the original story, and locating the gem (an event witnessed by Gorakh Nath).

Anju and Manju are twins separated when babies thanks to their mentally handicapped nanny. An evil uncle Tribhuvan gets their parents killed in a car accident. Rajiv (Rishi Kapoor) comes from a wealthy land-owning family, and lives in a palatial home with his mother, who would like him to get married to a beautiful young woman named Vijaya Singh, the only daughter of Thakur Ajay Singh (Prem Chopra). Rajiv, however, is in love with Rajni (Sridevi), who is an orphan without connections. When Rajiv informs his mother of his intent to marry Rajni, she refuses to give her blessings, but relents after a favourable meeting with Rajni. The marriage is arranged and they enjoy their marriage - until the arrival of Bhairo Nath (Amrish Puri), a sadhu capable of controlling snakes. To remove her from the household, Bhairo and his disciples do a snake dance song, forcing Rajni to dance for them as she is a naga. However, when Rajiv comes into the house, Rajni escapes, only to be caught by Bhairo again, who reveals his plot, to control the world with the Mani, a sacred jewel that only Rajni knows is hidden. However, Rajiv comes and engages in a fight with the sadhu. The sadhu dies, and Rajiv and Rajni live happily ever after.

David D'Costa (Amitabh Bachchan) lives a relatively poor life in Chennai with his wife Mary D'Costa (Jayaprada) who is pregnant. She left a note blaming Chaturvedi for raping her. An upset David goes to confront Chaturvedi, is intercepted by Police Inspector Roop Kumar Sahay (Dalip Tahil) and Dr. Verma (Bharat Kapoor), the evidence is destroyed, and he is sentenced to 24 years in prison for Mary's murder. He asks his friend Mahesh to look after James in his long absence. Twenty four years later, David is released, he goes to visit Mahesh and is shocked to find that Mahesh has changed, he is no longer a boot-legger, he now lives a wealthy life-style, he wants David to forget the past, and live with his CID Inspector son Vijay (also Amitabh Bachchan). David is devastated with this news, but is determined to avenge his wrongful conviction and Mary's death, so he sets about to kill his tormentors one by one - the only obstruction he faces is none other than Vijay who, unaware of David being his father, is out to protect the 3 people.
