The film deals with a young man who has sent news of his upcoming nuptials and his plans to get married in his hometown to his parents and the people of hometown he speaks of. However, the woman they think he is going to bring with him is actually a man.
Synopsis
In an Alpine village in Bavaria, divorcee Katharina Remminger lives alone. Her husband had long ago left her for another woman, and her only son Hans lives in Berlin where he studies architecture. She receives a letter from her son Hans one day, informing her that he is engaged and wants to get married in his home town, and that he and his fiance Nicki will be visiting in the upcoming week. Having never heard or even seen a picture of Nicki, Katharina assumes that it's a female name and becomes elated at the thought of her son getting married and that she should one day become a grandmother, and in her excitement tells the whole town of Hans' news, and soon the town is abuzz about the upcoming nuptials.Actors

Annika est stagiaire depuis longtemps au sein de la maison de disques "GrandMusic", où elle travaille dans les relations avec la presse avec l'odieuse Cora. Elle gonfle son cv en faisant croire qu'elle parle couramment le finlandais. Enfin, elle a une chance d'avoir un CDI. Pour la mettre à l'épreuve, elle doit préparer "Ripili", un boys band finlandais, à un grand concours de talents en Allemagne. Mais à l'aéroport, Annika reçoit "Rypeli", un groupe de death metal très mauvais : elle n'a pas compris l'agent finlandais au téléphone. Annika ne peut et ne veut pas renoncer, car son poste de productrice dépend de la victoire à ce concours. Lors de la première répétition, il devient rapidement évident qu'il sera très difficile de préparer le groupe pour ce concours. Les garçons ont néanmoins aussi leur "bon" côté - Annika comprend ce que l'agent voulait dire par "diamant brut". Cependant elle fait en sorte pour que son patron ne rencontre pas les trois Finlandais. Les membres du groupe apprennent à jouer ensemble. Mais une dispute éclate lorsque Matti, le chanteur du groupe, s'essouffle et ne peut plus chanter. Auparavant il avait déjà perdu un concours. Annika amène Matti chez un médecin qui lui diagnostique de l'asthme. Aussitôt Erkki, le bassiste, est nommé chanteur.

Réda (Nicolas Cazalé) is a French-Moroccan teenager due to sit for Baccalauréat. When his devout father (played by Mohamed Majd) asks Réda to accompany him on a pilgrimage to Mecca, he reluctantly agrees. However, the father insists that they travel by car. As both embark on a road trip thousands of kilometres away from southern France, the once-icy father-and-son relationship starts to thaw as both gradually come to know each other. Réda speaks only in French to his father, who is seen speaking only Arabic for the majority of the film. Later, when necessary, the father proves that he in fact speaks impeccable French; his choice to speak only Arabic to his son is therefore purposeful.
