Kamatchi is a South Indian village girl who is about to get married. Her marriage is stopped due to dowry problem and hence her aunt marries off her son Selvaraj to Kamatchi. On the nuptial night Kamatchi suddenly screams when her husband approached her and blabbers in some unknown language which Selvaraj cannot understand. Selvaraj looks at the mirror by chance and shocks on seeing a reflection of a strange woman in the place of his wife and rushes to bring the village excorcist. The excorcist confirms that Kamatchi is possessed by a spirit and attempts to drive it. But the spirit introduces itself as a girl named Marian Ma from Singapore and tells him that Selvaraj's father who is working in Singapore is in terrible danger and Selvaraj must go to Singapore to save him. Selvaraj reminds of a letter written by his father stating that he is in danger. Selvaraj decides to leave Singapore along with his wife and the exorcist. Marian Ma tells that she will possess his wife during night time and leave her during dawn. Selvaraj ensures that Kamatchi does not know about her condition.

Sivaji is a director whose dream project is to make the love saga of Salim-Anarkali. After a long search for an apt girl to fit into the role of Anarkali, he finds it in a beggar girl (Nalini). He starts the movie with Nalini as Anarkali. K.R.Vijaya, wife of Sivaji starts suspecting Sivaji-Nalini relationship and this results in a mess inside their family. Nalini comes to know of this and feels that because of her, her mentor's life should not be in a mess, she leaves them without notice. Sivaji stops the project. Years pass by...Sivaji has a son now...Prabhu who is into spirituality and wishes to lead life as a brahmachari. Sivaji in one occasion, watches a dance by Bhuvani and jumps in glory that he has again found his anarkali in that danseuse. He comes to know that the girl who danced was none other than Nalini's daughter. Nalini's daughter (Bhuvani) is now chosen as Anarkali and Prabhu is selected as Salim. Prabhu and Bhuvani falls in love in real life too. K.R. vijaya comes to know of this and opposes this relationship suspecting that Bhuvani is Nalini's daughter through Sivaji. As the drama unfolds finally Prabhu and Bhuvani dies by intaking poison in a touching climax.

Senathipathi (Sathyaraj) is a respected village chief who is married to Meenakshi (Sukanya), while his little brother Sethupathi (Sathyaraj) is a good-for-nothing young man. Raja (Karthik) feels stifled under his strict father Col. Chandrasekhar (Jaiganesh) and when his father picks a girl he doesn't like for him to marry, it is the last straw and he runs away to Ooty. There he teams up with Vasu (Goundamani) and they come up with an ill-advised plan to kidnap Indu (Rambha), the daughter of Vishwanathan (Manivannan). Vishwanathan is in fact Col. Chandrasekhar's friend and it is Indu that Raja was supposed to marry. But Vishwanathan now mistakes Vasu to be his friend's son and takes him under his wing while Raja is hired to be his driver.
