It is part of the Barbie film series, a series of CGI Barbie films, the second to be a musical, and the first movie of Barbie animated under the name of Rainmaker Animation though it was animated by the old Mainframe Animators only. The film features the voice of Kelly Sheridan, who has been voicing the female protagonist in all the CGI Barbie movies to date, as Rosella.
The score for this film was composed by Arnie Roth. Songs for the film were written by Megan Cavallari, Amy Powers and Executive Producer Rob Hudnut.
Synopsis
After a violent storm, Sagi, a wise red panda and Azul, a flamboyant peacock discover that a six-year-old girl has been shipwrecked on their island. They and a baby elephant named Tika, decide to help her. Over time, she learns to talk to animals, but fails to remember anything about her past before the shipwreck, including her name after Ro. Her only clues are a battered trunk with a broken nameplate (Ro) and a shredded flag with a white rose.Actors

Barbie incarne la princesse Courtney et se rend pour la première fois dans un camp de vacances pour les royautés, situé sur une île. Seulement, une erreur est survenue lors de l'inscription au Camp Royauté. Sur les listes des participants, le nom de Courtney a été échangé avec celui d'Erika Juno. Cette dernière est une jeune pop-star qui a décidé d'annuler sa tournée pour assister au Camp Pop et se faire des amis. Les deux jeunes filles se retrouvent dans le mauvais camp et demandent à en être changée. Mais c'est sans compter sur la rivalité entre Lady Anne, la directrice du Camp Royauté, et Finn Oxford, directeur du Camp Pop, qui a eue une relation avec cette dernière. Quand Lady Anne apprend qu'Erika est une personne connue et talentueuse, elle décide de l'utiliser à son avantage. Elle simule une panne du système informatique, ce qui bloque la procédure d'échange entre Courtney et Erika et propose un concours de chant entre les deux camps. Le perdant devra fermer ses portes. À la suite de cette décision, Courtney et Erika vont devoir s'intégrer dans un monde qui n'est pas le leur; et avec l'aide de leurs nouveaux amis, empêcher la fermeture d'un des deux camps.

The film begins with the sight of the crystal prison of the Makuta. In Barbie: Fairytopia, the wingless flower fairy Elina defeated Laverna, the evil sister of the Enchantress, and the Enchantress gave Elina wings as a reward.
