Beyond the Door III, also known as Amok Train and Death Train, is a 1989 Italian horror film directed by Jeff Kwitny. This third and final film into the Beyond the Door trilogy, like its predecessor Beyond the Door II, is a sequel in-name-alone.

Synopsis

The film follows a group of American students to Yugoslavia. They meet up with their professor, Andromolek (Bo Svenson), to bear witness to a sacred pagan ritual. When they realize that they're the ones to be sacrificed, they run for their lives and escape by hopping a train. However, the train is possessed and is determined to reunite the young people with their horrifying fates. The evil train thirsts for blood and soon the students begin dying horrible, gruesome deaths. One girl, however, seems marked for an eternity as Satan's bride. The film begins with a headmaster's voice telling a large group of children he knows they have been playing on the railway with a young boy sitting on a railway bridge wall. As he ponders on his thoughts, he considers the idea of holding a school Sports Day-style event on the railway line. The rest of the film shows his imagined idea of what would happen, with children being split into four competitive teams to take part in different activities often carried out by young people trespassing on the railway. Three "games" are held, in which the children are challenged to break through the fence surrounding the railway line, play "chicken" with the trains and throw things at passing trains. Each time we see the tragic consequences of these activities, such as one scene where a driver's face is shredded by broken glass after a child throws a brick through the train window. The final task is for the children to run through a tunnel, but after they enter, we see a train approaching. Only four children cross the end of the tunnel, each of them injured terribly. One boy who crosses the finish line collapses as the overhead speaker announces the final results. The film finishes as a group of adults appear and go into the tunnel to carry out the bodies of the dead and injured children, which are then laid out in a long line along the railway track. The camera pans out to show all the dead and bloodied children along the track before returning to the boy sitting on the railway bridge wall, who seems to be reconsidering the idea.

A family of cannibals descended from Victorian railway workers, who were buried alive during construction, continue to dwell in the disused lines of the London Underground tube network. The last member of the family frequently visits the neighbouring Russell Square and Holborn stations to pick off passengers for food, then takes them back to the gruesome 'pantry' at an incomplete station. When the cannibal kidnaps and kills an important politician, he is hunted by a detective as well as an American college student and his English girlfriend who were the last to see the victim in the tube station. Donald Pleasence and Norman Rossington star as the investigating police officers. At the climax, when finally cornered and with his wife and the last of his family members dead from disease, the cannibal screams a corrupted form of "Mind the doors!", having picked it up parrot-fashion from the guards on the Underground trains.
