Black Christmas, ou Noël Tragique au Québec, est un film américain réalisé par Sophia Takal et sorti en 2019.
Il s'agit du second remake du film canadien du même titre, sorti en 1974, qui avait déjà eu droit à une première relecture en 2006. Néanmoins, il reprend uniquement les bases de l'original et en ré-adapte le reste pour offrir une vision différente de l'histoire ainsi que de nouvelles thématiques.
Synopsis
C'est bientôt le début des vacances de fin d'année à l'université Hawthorne. Parmi les étudiants qui vont rester sur le campus pendant les fêtes, il y a Riley Stone, une jeune femme ayant été victime d'un acte horrible de la part d'un membre de l'une des fraternité les plus puissantes d'Hawthorne lors de sa première année. Depuis, Riley se fait discrète et timide.Actors

Adam, a young photographer, awakens in a filthy bathtub. He gets out and finds himself chained to by one foot to a pipe in a large dilapidated bathroom. Lawrence Gordon, an oncologist, is chained by one foot to a pipe across the room and between them lies a corpse, holding a revolver and a microcassette recorder. Adam manages to retrieve the recorder and they learn from tapes in their pockets what they must do: Adam must escape the bathroom, and Lawrence must kill Adam before six o'clock, or his wife and daughter will die and he will be left to die as well. Using a clue from the tape, Adam finds a bag in the toilet tank containing two hacksaws, though neither is able to cut through their chains. Adam's saw breaks and he throws it at a mirror in frustration. Lawrence realizes the saws are meant to be used on their feet and identifies their captor as the Jigsaw Killer, whom Lawrence knows of because he was once a suspect.

Megan Paige (Eliza Dushku) is an investigator for the Rochester Police Department investigating the murder of a young girl named Carla Castillo. Her body was found in the nearby village of Churchville, New York with white cat hair on it. Against opposition of her colleagues and boyfriend Kenneth Shine (Cary Elwes), Megan insists that the murder is a work of a serial killer. Despite Megan’s considerable efforts she fails to catch the killer. Stress and obsession of the investigation causes Megan to hallucinate the victim's image. She ultimately has a nervous breakdown after being kicked off the case and tries to commit suicide.

After two strip club workers disappear and are found dead later on, a team of reporters unearth a mysterious tape which shows the women being followed and later murdered by the camera man. After investigating the cases further, the reporters on the team become targeted by the murderer and have other chilling tapes sent to them. The team are joined by the host of the hit television show American Crime, who assists them on their journey to uncover the true murderer, as a man was already sent to jail for the killings. With a disbelieving sheriff ignoring the case, the reporters must solve the crime themselves before they themselves are killed.

Two men, Brad and Ryan, wake up in a metropolitan storefront window. Each man is bound at the wrists to opposite side of a worktable with a circular saw in front of them. During the original outbreak of the Rage Virus, Don, his wife Alice, and four other survivors hide in a barricaded cottage on the outskirts of London. They hear a terrified boy pounding at their door, and let him in. A few minutes later, they discover that the infected have followed the boy to them. The infected attack and kill most of the survivors, while Don, Alice, and the boy are chased upstairs. Don is separated from Alice and when the boy is seen hiding in the closet. Alice rushes to get the boy, while Don tells her to just leave him. Soon the infected break into the room and after Alice pleading with Don to "help us", he decides to leave, abandoning them. Don desperately sprints to a nearby motorboat and narrowly escapes.

Manhattan short story writer Jennifer Hills rents an isolated cottage on Park Hill Lane near the Housatonic River in the Litchfield County, Connecticut countryside to write her first novel. Katie Carter (Dallender) is an aspiring model from Missouri who works as a waitress in a New York City restaurant. While walking home from work, Thana, a mute seamstress in New York City's Garment District, is raped at gunpoint in an alley by a mysterious, masked attacker. She survives and makes her way back to her apartment, where she encounters a burglar and is raped a second time. Thana, her name an allusion to Greek god of death Thanatos, hits this second assailant with a small sculpture then bludgeons him to death with an iron, and carries his body to the bathtub. She goes to work the next day, and after encountering working with an iron, watching her boss Albert rip a shirt off a mannequin, she goes into shock, which worries her co-workers. However, when she looks at the trashbin at her office, she decides to dismember the burglar's corpse and throw the parts away in various locations of the city.

Set in the 1930s in a strict elite British boarding school called St Mathilda's, the story centers on a clique of girls who idolize their enigmatic diving instructor, Miss G (Eva Green) (in the film, we learn that Miss G had been a student at the same school where she now works and, in fact, may have even continued on at the school after she graduated). Di Radfield (Juno Temple) has a crush on Miss G, and is the firm favourite and ringleader of her group. When a beautiful Spanish girl named Fiamma Coronna (María Valverde) arrives at the school, Miss G's focus is shifted away from the other girls. It becomes a triangle: Miss G gets increasingly obsessed with Fiamma, Fiamma is disturbed by Miss G and also openly disgusted by the teacher's hypocrisies and deceptions, and Di is terribly jealous and makes Fiamma's life hell. In a very telling scene in the film that clearly highlighted Miss G's deceptions, Miss G (who claimed to be a world traveller to her "girls") goes to a nearby parochial town to buy some provisions. She is visibly upset by this trip and after buying her provisions and drawing the unwanted attention of some local louts, she returns to the school in, it would seem, a near panic. The bullying culminates in Di physically throwing Fiamma out of the school but, as she is unable to return to Spain as she hoped, Fiamma ends up back at the school later that night.
