Blood Money is a 2012 Bollywood crime thriller film directed by Vishal Mahadkar and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. The film stars Kunal Khemu opposite Amrita Puri in lead roles. It released on 30 March 2012, and received mostly positive response from critics. Blood Money managed to perform above average business at the box office. Many critics compared the film to the Blood Diamond (2006), The Firm (1993) and to Bhatt's earlier directorial film Naam (1986).

Synopsis

The story is about Kunal (Kunal Khemu) who believes he can do anything by trying his hardest. He receives a job offer through his friend Teeshay and his wife Nadini (Puja Gupta) in Cape Town and moves there with his wife Aarzoo (Amrita Puri). They live a happy life together, until Kunal becomes extremely workaholic. Kunal's this nature irritates Aarzoo which leads to frequent outbursts and quarrels. Kunal becomes the most trusted employee of his boss Dharmesh Zaveri (Manish Chaudhary). Kunal advances in his job. Soon Dharmesh is revealed to be an underworld gangster. The company Kunal works in deals with exporting diamonds; Kunal has no idea that it happens illegally. His boss, Mr. Zakaria, sends his hot colleague Rosa to charm Kunal and take him away from his wife. The plan works, and Kunal begins to work with Zakaria, with Aarzoo having no idea of this. Soon enough, Kunal realises the crime he is a part of and decides to and leave Cape Town. However, Zakaria knows that Kunal is aware of the illegal business and the only way to keep him silent is to kill him. Kunal gets fooled by a police officer who is joined with zakaria. Kunal decides to fight against him not knowing of the fact that the police officer has met up with zakaria. Kunal does everything against zakaria but when he reaches the plane area he gets to know about zakarias plan.

Veeru (Kunal Khemu) is a small time crook working for a large drug importer, Tejpal (Arbaaz Khan). He is unaware that his best friend Jai (Fardeen Khan) is an undercover cop, seeking evidence against Tejpal. During a raid on Tejpal's warehouse, Veeru accidentally shoots Jai in the head but he miraculously survives and makes a full recovery. Veeru then flees the state, and is subsequently arrested. Jai is assigned the task of returning Veeru to testify against Tejpal. They confront each other, and seem to find their friendship still exists. They both decide to be friends again, when Veeru claims he has Tejpal's diary, which includes all his secrets and whereabouts. When they go to catch him, Tejpal shoots Veeru, while Jai attacks Tejpal and kills him. By the time the police get there, Jai has already let Veeru flee, and Jai is arrested for what he has done. Since then, lives on the friendship of "Jai Veeru".
