Blue Steel is a 1989 American action thriller film directed by Kathryn Bigelow, and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Ron Silver and Clancy Brown.
The film was initially set to be released by Vestron Pictures and its offshoot label Lightning Pictures, but it was ultimately acquired by MGM due to Vestron's financial problems and eventual bankruptcy at the time.
Synopsis
Megan Turner (Jamie Lee Curtis) is a rookie New York City policewoman who shoots and kills a suspect (Tom Sizemore) with her service revolver while he's holding up a neighborhood market. The suspect's handgun lands on the floor of the market in the shopping area as the suspect is blown backward through the front window.Actors

In a small Texas town, a mentally ill John Kirby (Brian Libby) goes insane and kills two members of a family he was staying with. Sheriff Daniel "Dan" Stevens (Chuck Norris) and his deputy Charlie (Stephen Furst) respond and eventually arrest Kirby, but Kirby breaks out of the handcuffs, overpowers the other officers and grabs one of their revolvers, forcing the officers to open fire and shoot Kirby. Kirby suffers severe gunshot wounds and is near death.

Twenty years after the events of Halloween and Halloween II, on October 29, 1998, Marion Chambers (Nancy Stephens), Dr. Sam Loomis' former colleague, returns to her house in Langdon, Illinois, to find it has been burglarized.
