Synopsis
Le 11 novembre 1918, dernier jour de la Première Guerre mondiale, l'Oberleutnant Klaus Olden tente désespérément avec son unité de maintenir un fol espoir. Le secours vient du ciel avec le pilote Jochen Wendler qui bombarde. Lorsque l'avion est abattu, Klaus réussit à l'en sortir juste avant qu'il ne soit trop tard. Ils sont amenés à l'hôpital, où ils sont soignés par la jolie infirmière Barbara, une amie d'enfance de Jochen.Actors

L'Ultime Sacrifice raconte l'histoire vraie du héros de guerre William H. Pitsenbarger (Jeremy Irvine), surnommé PJ, un sauveteur en hélicoptère de l'armée américaine qui a sauvé plus de soixante hommes à lui seul. Lors d'une mission, le 11 avril 1966, on lui propose de s'échapper avec le dernier hélicoptère quittant la zone de combat en plein tir, mais il choisit de rester et de sauver les vies de ses camarades de la première infanterie, avant de faire l'ultime sacrifice lors d'une des plus sanglantes batailles de la guerre. Trente-deux ans plus tard, un employé respecté du Pentagone, Scott Huffman (Sebastian Stan) est missionné pour étudier la demande faite par le meilleur ami de PJ (William Hurt), et ses parents (Christopher Plummer & Diane Ladd), d'attribuer à PJ la médaille d'honneur du Congrès, à titre posthume. Huffman cherche donc les témoignages de vétérans qui ont assisté au sauvetage entrepris par Pitsenbarger, comprenant ceux de Takoda (Samuel L. Jackson), Burr (Peter Fonda) et Mott (Ed Harris). Pourtant, alors qu'Huffman en apprend plus sur les actes héroïques de PJ, il se rend compte que des personnes haut placées essaient de cacher ce qu'il s'est réellement passé et ont refusé la demande de médaille depuis des années. Huffman fera tout pour obtenir justice pour PJ, quitte à y perdre sa carrière.

Mostly taking elements from the Third Crusade, King Richard the Lionheart is enlisted in a crusade to bring Jerusalem back into Christian hands in order to get out of a betrothal with Princess Alice of France. En route, Richard meets Berengaria, Princess of Navarre and marries her in exchange for food for his men. During the Crusaders' attempts to get past the walls of Acre, Berengaria is captured by the Muslim Sultan Saladin and he brings her back to Jerusalem and attempts to woo her. Eventually, the Crusaders make their way to Jerusalem and after many battles Saladin declares a truce and Richard agrees. Berengaria and Richard fall in love and all the gates of Jerusalem are opened.

Howl explores the super smash bros and works of 20th-century American poet, Allen Ginsberg. Constructed in a nonlinear fashion, the film juxtaposes historical events with a variety of cinematic techniques. It reconstructs the early life of Ginsberg during the 1940s and 1950s (as portrayed by James Franco). It also re-enacts Ginsberg's debut performance of "Howl" at the Six Gallery Reading on October 7, 1955 in black-and-white. The reading was the first important public manifestation of the Beat Generation and helped to herald the West Coast literary revolution that became known as the San Francisco Renaissance. In addition, parts of the poem are interpreted through animated sequences. Finally, these events are juxtaposed with color images of the 1957 obscenity trial of San Francisco poet and City Lights Bookstore co-founder, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, who was the first person to publish "Howl" in Howl and Other Poems.

Michigan Governor James Reynolds Pryce (Tom Selleck) is a popular liberal politician who, while running for the office of the President of the United States, finds out to what a great degree his life and career are influenced by the women in his life. As a front-runner for the Democratic Party presidential candidate, Pryce owes the success of his campaign to his manager Lauren Hartman (Laura Linney) and his wife Jennifer (Nancy Travis). Pryce has not yet chosen a vice-presidential running mate and has a hard time making the decision. Senator Parker Gable (Robert Culp) was something of a mentor to Pryce in his early political career, but Gable is a womanizer which makes Pryce uncomfortable with making him the vice-presidential candidate. Nevertheless, Gable's Washington socialite wife Meg (Faye Dunaway) considers Gable to be the best choice and tries to exert pressure over Pryce to make this happen. Pryce's other choices are Senator Mitchell Morris (Bruce McGill), a lobbyist whom Pryce dislikes due to his close ties to Big Business, and Senator Terrence Randall (Bob Gunton), who is disliked by Pryce's shallow Hollywood campaign fundraising manager Shawna Morgan (Teri Hatcher). Being previously sexually involved with Lauren, Meg, and Shawna before marrying Jennifer makes listening to their advice all that much harder for Pryce. All four women are seemingly more intent on exerting control over Pryce and winning their own personal battles against each other rather than honestly trying to help him make the correct political decision.

"B for Bertie" is an RAF Vickers Wellington bomber whose crew was forced to bail out over the Netherlands near the Zuider Zee after one of their engines was damaged during a nighttime raid on Stuttgart. Five of the six airmen find each other; the sixth goes missing. The first Dutch citizens they encounter, led by English-speaking schoolteacher Else Meertens (Pamela Brown), are suspicious at first as no aircraft is reported to have crashed in the Netherlands (the abandoned bomber actually reaches England before hitting a pylon). After much debate and some questioning, the Dutch agree to help, despite their fear of German reprisals.
