The United Artists release was filmed at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome. It served as the basis for the unsuccessful 1979 stage musical Carmelina and the plot of the enormously successful stage musical Mamma Mia! and its 2008 movie adaptation.
Synopsis
La Seconde Guerre Mondiale terminée, Carla, une ravissante italienne, décide de passer de tendres moments avec trois soldats américains. Pourtant, neuf mois plus tard, la jeune femme devient la maman de la petite Gia. Décidée à subvenir aux besoins de sa fille, Carla annonce alors aux trois hommes qu'ils doivent s'acquitter d'une pension, au grand dam de leurs épouses.Actors

In New York in the 1920s, amorous opera star Augustino "Gus" Caraffa (Ezio Pinza) crosses paths with Isabelle Perry (Janet Leigh), a naive music student from Mississippi who is his biggest fan. When a news photographer catches them in a kiss, it is proposed that they get married in name only to avoid a scandal.
