Synopsis
La princesse Wilma rentre à Budapest après la mort de son père pour l'ouverture du testament. Elle découvre alors que le testament stipule qu'elle ne peut percevoir son héritage que si elle est mariée avant sa majorité. Or il y a urgence car elle atteindra sa majorité le soir même. Il apparaît alors que son oncle le baron de Tokay a comploté de lui faire épouser son fils, le lieutenant de Tokay, un fêtard invétéré. Pour y échapper, la princesse Wilma épouse sur le champ Latzi, un jeune bohémien. Alors qu'elle fête ses noces déguisée en bohémienne, la princesse Wilma rencontre le lieutenant Tokay qui s'éprend d'elle .Actors

While being hounded by creditors, a debt-ridden artist discovers he has just won a lottery worth a million Dutch florins. Realizing that he has left the ticket in the pocket of his jacket, he attempts to retrieve it but discovers that his fiancée Beatrice has given away the jacket to a criminal in order to elude the police. During a tennis match in Paris between Ferdinand de Lesseps (Tyrone Power) and his friend Vicomte Rene de Latour (Joseph Schildkraut), the enthusiastic admiration of Countess Eugenie de Montijo (Loretta Young) for de Lesseps attracts the attention of Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (Leon Ames). Bonaparte sees to it that both she and de Lesseps are invited to his reception. At the party, a fortuneteller predicts that Eugenie will have a troubled life, but also wear a crown, and that de Lesseps will dig a ditch. Entranced by Eugenie's beauty, Bonaparte arranges for his romantic rival to be assigned to a diplomatic post in Egypt, joining his father, Count Mathieu de Lesseps (Henry Stephenson), the Consul-General. De Lesseps impulsively asks Eugenie to marry him immediately, but she turns him down.
