Synopsis
Après avoir tué un officier, un soldat noir, Ben, est contraint de déserter l'armée et il est aussitôt traqué par elle et les Mexicains. Perdu dans le désert, il rencontre un Indien taiseux et solitaire affligé d'un pied-bot, Taureau-Assis, qui ne parle qu'à son animal de compagnie, un poulet surnommé "Charley le borgne". Le déserteur et l'Indien, malgré leur caractère différent, se lient d'amitié. Ils se réfugient à côté d’une petite église abandonnée. Lorsque Ben est capturé par un odieux chasseur de primes raciste, l'Indien, jusqu'ici peu loquace, prend les armes et part à son secours.Actors

During the early 1970s, FBI agent Ray Levoi is assigned to aid in the investigation of a political murder; that of Leo Fast Elk (Allan R.J. Joseph), on a Native American reservation in South Dakota. Agent William Dawes, Ray's superior, has chosen him for the task due to his mixed Sioux heritage which might assist in the inquiry as they interview local townspeople. Ray is partnered with agent Frank "Cooch" Coutelle, who has diligently worked on the probe looking to apprehend a prime suspect: Aboriginal Rights Movement radical Jimmy Looks Twice. While helping Cooch track down the suspect, Ray gradually becomes sensitized to Indian issues, partially from his attraction to Maggie Eagle Bear, a political Native American activist and schoolteacher.

NYPD Detective John Shaft (Samuel L. The Zacharys are a thriving and respected family on the Texas frontier. Father Will Zachary was killed by Kiowa Indians, leaving his oldest son Ben (Burt Lancaster) as the head of the family. An aging and dying plantation owner is deep in debt. Another man of the nature of Simon Legre is in the process of taking control of the estate and selling off the slaves to other plantation owners. The dying owner, however has freed Charley, giving him a paper that frees him. The Simon equivalent takes his paper and tears it up, beating Charlie, tying him up, intent on selling him despite his having been freed. The white man is drunk and goes to where Charlie is presumed to still be tied up, awaiting sale. Charlie is free of his bonds however and when attacked he defends himself and kills the white man. Two other slaves had already prepared to escape and were waiting for Charlie with three horses when the fight occurred and they flee together, pursued a few hours later by a group of vigilantes led by a man with a reputation as a slave hunter/killer.

It is the late 1970s, and smuggler David Swansey (Richard Harris) specialises in importing goods to war-torn Rhodesia, defying international sanctions imposed on the doomed nation. Swansey is eventually contracted by the Ian Smith administration to arrange an illicit purchase of American-made Iroquois helicopters for counter-insurgency operations against black African nationalists. However, word of his plan soon reaches the latter, who apply strong political pressure to kill the deal in its cradle – the aircraft shipment in question is impounded upon reaching neighbouring South-West Africa.
