The film stars Chiranjeevi, Madhavi, Lakshmi, Hema Sundar, and Kannada Prabhakar in important roles. It was remade in Hindi as Andha Kanoon. It was also dubbed into the same language. It is a remake of 1981 Tamil movie Sattam Oru Iruttarai which starred Vijayakanth in lead role.
Synopsis
A thrilling Revenge drama made during early 80s, Chattaniki Kallu Levu deals with the story of siblings Vijay (Chiranjeevi) and Durga (Lakshmi) pursuing their sister’s and father’s murderers. Their father and sister are killed by three men, John (Hema Sundar), Javed (Kannada Prabhakar) and Janardan (Ceylon Manohar). Durga, now a police officer, wants the murderers to be punished legally. But, Vijay thinks that law and its loopholes can never track down the three murderers. So, he decides to track them down by himself and succeeds in killing John and Janardhan. This frustrates his sister and interrupts her investigations. She suspects Vijay, but due to lack of evidence remains helpless. In the end, Durga, tring to nab Javed, is kidnapped by him, but Vijay saves her and kills Javed.Actors

The story- A local thug and criminal who kills people like mosquitoes Masanam (Prakash Raj) slowly rises up the ranks to be a Minister. We have Shakthivel (Nithin Sathya) a die-hard fan of actor Vijay who studies in a city college. He falls in love with the wicked minister's sister Thulasi (Sindhu Tolani) and challenges him (he has a reason for that) and a cat and mouse game ensues. What follows is a series of incidents between the two that leads to a melodramatic climax.

The movie opens with murder of a Doctor who tries to set up his medical practice in a village. Everyone knows that the Zamindar of that village is behind that murder. He doesn't like the villagers to get exposed to better things, as he fears they might get out of his control. Enters Dr. Santhi (Radhika), who is determined to complete her father’s incomplete dream. She meets Chiru, who will be very helpful and co-coperative to her. But, zamindar has his own cruel intentions. He plans to kills Dr. Santhi also, but Chiru saves her. Every attempt on her life is foiled by Chiru and in the end Chiru manages to help Dr.santhi to run her practice smoothly by bringing zamindar to justice.

Suriya, the main character, killed the villains who murdered his family and has been sent to jail. During his time in jail, a well-respected collector celebrates his daughter's birthday in prison. The collector's daughter is impressed by Surya's talent in singing and convinces her father to grant her special permission to learn music from him. During this time, they fall in love with each other and opposition grows from both the girl's parents and the police department they elope. They come to a remote town where they witness the murder of a collector in the railway station during broad daylight, but no one seems to care. They then see that the man who murdered the collector is the chief of the village, so they try to oppose him. In their time at the village, they learn about his past and change their mind about him. He promises them to get them married. The movie then moves towards the climax as whether the village chief will be successful in getting those two lovers married or the girl's father will be successful in separating them using the legal system against them.

Vijay (Vijay) is a rich young business man, whose only one aim in life is to have fun, is the managing director of a big tea estate in Ooty and his company goes on a big loss because of his mismanagement. Vijay spends most of his time in partying and flirting with girls whenever he feels like. To manage the loss to his company, Vijay invites his father Rajasekar (who is in the United States) to come to India to sign some documents. As fate would have it, Vijay's father dies in a plane crash on his way to India. His maternal uncle (Manivannan) comes up with the idea of having another elderly person to act as Vijay's father for a while until the documents are signed.
