Starring Caroleen Feeney and Paulie DiCocco, the film tells the story of a wannabe crime writer turned substitute food critic who writes a very unfavourable review of a restaurant. Unknown to the critic, the restaurant is owned by the Mafia and, upon learning of the negative review, the mobsters decide to exact revenge and they abduct the critic.
Chow Bella premièred at the 1998 Austin Film Festival where it finished as the second runner-up to the festival winning film La Cucaracha.

Sheila Rilo (Silverstone) is a bank teller at Desert Savings Bank in a small desert town. Thanks to falsified dental records supplied by his former neighbor Nicholas "Oz" Ozeransky (Matthew Perry), retired hitman Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski (Bruce Willis) now spends his days compulsively cleaning his house and perfecting his culinary skills with his wife, Jill (Amanda Peet), a purported assassin who has yet to pull off a "clean" hit (everyone she is hired to kill dies in bizarre accidents before she can kill them). During a debate in Naples' town hall during the early 80s Pasquale Picone, a former Italsider (Italy's then state-owned steel company) worker who had recently lost his job pulls out a jerrycan of gasoline and sets himself alight in front of the Municipal Council, his wife and her three kids are unable to find out where he has been taken after an ambulance arrives with unusual haste and disappears with him on board. Desperate for news about her husband, the woman hires an unlikely kind of 'private eye' (Giancarlo Giannini), in the form of Salvatore Cannavacciuolo, a man who ekes out a living giving informations to people visiting the morgue for one thousand lire apiece. During his investigations Salvatore (who had his less than noble motivations to accept the task) finds out that Pasquale never worked for Italsider, he merely pretended to so; that way he could hide from his own family the fact that he was involved into a veritable web of deals ranging from contraband, to gambling and to outright criminal enterprises linked to the 'Camorra' (the Neapolitan version of the Mob) and its underground. Hoping to profit from this knowledge Salvatore delves deeper and deeper into Picone's secret life with results ranging from the farcical to the dangerous in a movie which can be seen as one of the very last examples of the Commedia all'Italiana genre (here hybridized with the detective story).

Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is an ordinary teenager who lives in Staten Island, New York. Dave purchases a bodysuit and makes modifications to it. En pleine prohibition, Claire, une jeune veuve, tente de reprendre les affaires de son compagnon avec la complicité de Walker. L'affaire n'est pas si simple puisqu'il faut compter avec la mafia dirigée par l'inquiétant McTeague et aussi par des gardes côtes incorruptibles. La première opération réussit, le trio dépense son argent dans un hôtel de luxe. Les relations entre les trois personnages tournent vite au ménage à trois. Mais Claire pense à son avenir, et sait qu'une fois l'argent dépensé, ils n'auront plus rien, il leur faut donc refaire une nouvelle grosse opération, mais cette fois McTeague n'est pas décidé à se laisser faire et compte bien éliminer ce trio qui le gène dans son propre trafic. On va donc vers une confrontation majeure où tous les moyens vont être bons pour éliminer l'adversaire.
