CID Shankar is a 1970 black-and-white Tamil language thriller Film was directed by T. R. Sundaram and produced by Modern Theatres. Though the film script written by "A. L. Narayanan". Music by Vedha assets to the movie. Starring Jaishankar, CID Sakunthala, and Thengai Srinivasan in lead roles.V. S. Raghavan , R. S. Manohar , C. L. Anandan, Jayakumari , Kumari Radha was played supporting role. The film was remade from American film OSS 117 Mission for a Killer in 1965 French/Italian international co-production Eurospy film.

Synopsis

The film start had in its title sequence in which a Politician is killed by a Suicide bomber who explodes her explosive belt. C. I. D. Shankar and his assistant Raju(Thengai Srinivasan is deputed to the Nilgiris to investigate a case of mysterious murder. C. I. D. Ashokan(Pakkirisamy) also stay for the town, who pose at research of herbal, his close relation of lover's club dancer Reeta(Jayakumar). Ashokan find all truth his goes to Nagamalai estate, and his gives lift to young girl, and she was explodes her belt and Ashokan was gives diary and locker key for Vithya(Sakunthala) her saved ashokan life and admit him hospital. But unfortuneately ashokan was killed by the mysterious gang in hospital. Vithya was gives the things to shankar and both are falls in love. Raju was falls love with cinema actress Rama(Kumari Radha), who also stay the same hotel. Shankar meet Reeta and ask help to her. She gives information to his assistant Raju and her killed by the same mysterious gang. Vithya ask help to her brother Sundaram(Vennira Aadai Moorthy) for the herbal details. Sundaram was meet his friend Boopathy(R. S. Manohar). Shankar was introducer to boopathy by himself as herbel researchlist,who give the helpful information of the drug detail. Some particular herbal was grows at black forest, that herbal name was "Arome" was produced by drug. The drug was injected to human body, who goes to hipnatis and affect to constpution, they person are used for the gang illegal works. Shankar discovers to the murder are being, committed by a terroist gang, who are embarking on a secret movement will CID shankar he able to accomplish his mission.

Rajasekaran (Major Sundarrajan) is a rich man who is in possession of an antique sword that holds the key to a treasure. Nagalingam (Thengai Srinivasan), a criminal, makes several unsuccessful attempts to steal the sword from Rajasekaran. On one such attempts Anand (Jaishankar) saves Rajasekaran and becomes his trusted guy to protect the sword. Raju(Rajnikanth), an orphan who is being raised by an alcoholic, ex-thief Rajasingam (M.N Nambiar), is an expert in boosting cars and Anita (##Anita Raj) is his love interest. Several years back Rajasingam had stolen a car owned by Nagalingam with a child inside without knowing that the car and the child (Raju) actually belonged to Rajasekaran. One day Rajasingam spots Nagalingam in a shopping complex and believing that Raju is the son of Nagalingam, he hands Raju to him as his own son. Nagalingam deceitfully accepts Raju as his son and cleverly employs him to steal the sword from Rajasekaran, his real father. While Raju attempts to steal the sword, Anand keeps thwarting him. Despite Anand's efforts Raju manages to loot the sword but then discovers that he's actually the son of Rajasekaran and he himself had been instrumental in stealing his own family treasure for the wrong men. With the help of Anand, Raju fights with Nagalingam's gang to successfully retrieve their family treasure and reunites with his family.
