Come Next Spring (1956) is a drama film made in Trucolor for Republic Pictures starring Steve Cochran as a former alcoholic who returns to the wife he deserted years ago, played by Ann Sheridan, and their children.

The theme song "Come Next Spring" was written by Lenny Adelson and performed by Tony Bennett. It was later covered by Scott Walker on his 1968 album Scott 2. Much of Max Steiner's score was reused from Sergeant York.

Après douze ans d'absence, Matt Ballot, autrefois connu pour son caractère bagarreur et son alcoolisme, revient dans sa région. Il y retrouve sa femme Bess qui durant ce temps a continué à s'occuper de la ferme, en élevant ses deux enfants, Annie, une jeune fille qui a perdu l'usage de la parole à la suite d'un accident provoqué par Matt, et Abraham qui ne l'a jamais connu. Bess ne leur cache pas que cet inconnu est leur père. Matt, qui s'est acheté une conduite, désire rester, mais Bess est réticente. Annie et Abraham se sentent attirés vers Matt, qui, petit à petit, se rend indispensable.

Red is working as a stagecoach driver with one of his passengers being Dickie, a recently orphaned young child travelling on his own. Red puts him on the inaugural stagecoach from Elkhorn to Denver, Colorado where he will meet his only surviving relative, an Aunt that he has never met. Dickie is riding with the Land Commissioner on his way to Denver to report the dishonest dealings of the town's boss Big Bill Lambert. Lambert owns the new Denver stagecoach line so he can control communications as the telegraph line to Denver has not been opened, and wants to ensure that the Land Commissioner does not make it to Denver.
