Synopsis
Boy has difficulty getting a drivers license and works in new age bookstore. Boy meets girl, in school. Boy hides stolen religious artifacts from Yorkshire for hippie poet bookstore owner in parents basement, but is instead bit by a keychain. Boy (Jesse Spencer) and girl (Sara Gleeson) have sweet and gentle first kiss, but soon are being chased by a predatory gargoyle. Long-haired friend and crazy priest pitch in to help save the day, even though no alcohol is consumed. Boy gets license and girl, priest continues quest against E-vil.Actors

Rae Ingram (Kidman), is involved in a car crash which results in the death of her son. Her husband, an Australian Royal Navy officer John Ingram (Neill) suggests that they help deal with their grief by heading out for a vacation alone on their yacht. In the middle of the Pacific, they encounter a drifting boat that seems to be taking on water. A man, Hughie Warriner (Zane), rows over to the Ingrams' boat for help. He claims that his boat is sinking and that his companions have all died of food poisoning.

Patrick (Robert Thompson) lies in a coma in a Melbourne private hospital. He had murdered his mother and her lover three years ago by electrocuting them in the bath. Patrick, who has psychokinetic powers, falls in love with Kathy (Susan Penhaligon), the new nurse at the hospital, communicating with her via an electric typewriter. The film opens as Dr. Brian Cowper (Robert Coleby) takes a shower in the apartment he shares with his wife Jill (Judy Morris), who is a masters student in anthropology. As he exits the building's elevator on his way to work, an ominous character is seen entering and randomly choosing the button for the ninth floor. He knocks on the Cowper's door and announces himself as Max (Ivar Kants), the building's plumber. Jill insists that they did not call for a plumber, and Max assures her that he is simply doing a mandatory check of the building's pipes.

All of the women on the planet Mars have died in an atomic war, except for Martian Princess Marcuzan (Marilyn Hanold). Marcuzan and her right-hand man, Dr. Nadir (Lou Cutell), decide they will travel to Earth and steal all of the women on the planet in order to continue the Martian race. The Martians shoot down a space capsule manned by the android Colonel Frank Saunders (Robert Reilly), causing it to crash in Puerto Rico. Frank's electronic brain and the left half of his face are damaged after encountering a trigger-happy Martian and his ray gun. Frank, now "Frankenstein", described by his creator as an "astro-robot without a control system" proceeds to terrorize the island. A subplot involves the martians abducting bikini clad women.

In North Western Australia, highway patrol officers Gary Bulmer (Shane Connor) and trainee Brian O'Connor (Ben Gerrard) are parked by a rural road and are desperate to meet a quota for speeding tickets. Mick Taylor (John Jarratt), a pig hunter, drives past going under the speed limit and they pull him over, claiming he's going over the speed limit. After belittling and insulting Mick, the two officers give him a speeding ticket and an order to get rid of his truck. As they drive away, Mick uses his sniper rifle to splatter O'Connor's head, causing the cruiser to crash in a gully. Despite Bulmer's pleas, Mick breaks his leg and stabs him with a bowie knife, and places the fatally wounded officer back in the car before dousing it with petrol and setting it alight.
