Damaged Goods is a 1919 British silent drama film directed by Alexander Butler and starring Campbell Gullan, Marjorie Day and J. Fisher White. It was based on the play Les Aviaries by Eugène Brieux. Because of the play's controversial tackling of the subject of venerial disease, the film had issues with censor boards and attracted a degree of notoriety. The film was described by one reviewer as a "masterpiece".

In 1770s France Doctor Manette is witness to the rape of a young woman Jeanne Defarge and the murder of her and brother Jacques by the powerful Marquis d'Evremonde. In order to silence Manette, d'Evremonde arranges to have him locked away in the infamous Bastille Prison where he remains for over a decade. Viola Hastings (Amanda Bynes) is a smart-mouthed high school soccer player at Cornwall, which suddenly cuts its girls' team. After her request to join the boys' team is refused by the sexist coach, she finds a way to play for Cornwall's rivals, Illyria, an elite boarding school team that her twin brother, Sebastian (James Kirk), is supposed to enroll at as a new student. However, he is hoping to go to a contest in London with his fledging band, so he asks Viola to cover for him by telling the school that he is sick. She agrees but, unbeknownst to him, decides to pass herself off as Sebastian instead, in hopes of beating Cornwall and humiliating her cocky ex-boyfriend, Justin (Robert Hoffman). With the help of her stylist friend, Paul (Jonathan Sadowski), she is transformed into "Sebastian" and joins Illyria in his place.

As summarized in a film publication, the film shows through a dream sequence the various tragedies and hardships endured by those who make fancy dresses. Anne's passion is clothes, but her husband closes her account at Jacquelin's. In a pique she goes to sleep and dreams, while her new dress with its flower design is draped over a chair. In the first episode, a crippled girl named Annie makes the flowers, and finally sells her wonderful hair and then goes away so that she will not stand in the way of her sister's happiness. The second episode shows the unhappy Russian story of the sable which decorates the gown, with a trapper coming home to discover that his wife is unfaithful. The third story involves Annette and her husband Nicolas, a weaver who is dying. Annette tries unsuccessfully to work the loom, but is saved by the arrival of an old sweetheart Johnny, who comes to her rescue. The last episode involves a mannequin (clothing shop worker?) who fights to maintain her reputation, and eventually kills the manager of the establishment when he tries to keep her away from her dying mother. Anne then awakens, cured of her passion for clothes and happy with her husband once more.
