Synopsis
A group of students on a field trip to Lapland uncovers an ancient shield. One of the students gets possessed by some sort of spirit essence and when a supposed rescue team arrives an epic battle over an entity trapped in the shield begins.Actors

Because of the copious amounts of large buildings in the center of Moscow, the Moscow subway tunnel, built in 1935, is starting to fail as it cannot withstand the resulting weight. One tunnel night crawler, Sergeitch (Sergey Sosnowski), sees a small leak in the roof of the tunnel (in the place where the tunnel runs under the Moscow River) and informs the assistant station (Michael Fateev), but he says that it is only groundwater and mocks the old man for worrying about it. Meanwhile, Irina Garin (Svetlana Hodchenkova) is torn between her lover - businessman Vlad Konstantinov (Anatoly Bely) - and her husband - a district hospital surgeon Andrei (Sergei Puskepalis) - with their daughter Ksenya (Anfisa Wistinghausen). Konstantinov believes that she is no match for Andrei, and tries to persuade her to divorce him. Arriving from Zagranpoezdki, she spends the night with Konstantinov and doesn't have time to come home in the morning. Andrei has to take his daughter Ksenya to school but by chance, they cannot go by car and walk to the metro station "Garden". Simultaneously, Konstantinov arrives, hurrying to work, but forced to give up the car because of traffic jams. Meanwhile Sergeitch, drinking with casual acquaintance Galina (Elena Panova) next to the "Garden", recalls that the water leaking into the tunnel smelled of slime, which means that it can not be groundwater. They are detained by the police for drinking alcohol in a public place, but manage to escape, and Galina flees into the subway. Sergeitch phones his employers to inform all the dispatchers but police turn a deaf ear to his request.

The story picks up as Frankie Faulkner fails in his attempt to blackmail the district attorney, Joseph Foster, into letting his boss, Hansen, go free from the charges against him. Frankie goes on to recruit young Larry Price, a criminal in the making, to join the boys' club led by Reverend Thomas Garfield, for which Frankie is a sponsor. Joseph is very keen on convicting Hansen for his crimes. He tells the reverend that he literally is prepared to "sell his soul" to get the job done. Will Randall is bitten by a wolf while driving home in Vermont. A party from Hong Kong headed up by Johnny (Danny Lee) are exploring the Indian side of the Himalayan mountains and discover the eponymous Peking Man, a gigantic ape-like creature, along with a beautiful blond wild woman named Samantha (Evelyne Kraft) whose parents had been killed in a plane crash. Samantha was raised by Utam (the Peking Man) with nothing to wear but an animal-skin bikini. Like Tarzan, she has learned both to swing through the trees on vines and to communicate with and command the jungle animals, with the exception of a venomous snake who bites her on the inner thigh requiring the hero Johnny to suck out the poison while Samantha's leopard friend fights the snake. In 1999, 45 years after Godzilla's first attack, Lieutenant Akane Yashiro, a mazer-cannon technician, is unable to kill a new member of Godzilla's species during her first fight. She is made a scapegoat for the military's losses during the battle and transferred to a desk job. During the battle, it was discovered that Godzilla is immune to mazer fire, rendering all of the Japanese military useless against it should it return. Scientists, including single father Tokumitsu Yuhara, are gathered to build a bio-mechanical robot from the original Godzilla's skeleton. Four years later, the cyborg Mechagodzilla, named Kiryu, is finished and inducted into the Japan Self-Defense Forces along with its human pilots as the Kiryu Squadron. Akane becomes the main pilot for Kiryu. However, memories of Akane's actions during the original fight still linger, and one of her squadron mates, Second Lieutenant Susumu Hayama holds her responsible for the death of his brother.
