Katja von Garnier (born 15 December 1966 in Wiesbaden) is a German film director.
The 1997 film Bandits starring Katja Riemann was also a commercial success and was the winner of the Grand Prize at the 10th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival held in February 1999.
In 1999, she was a member of the jury at the 49th Berlin International Film Festival.
In 2002, she directed in the United States for the first time. The resulting movie Iron Jawed Angels about the women's suffrage movement was produced by HBO Films and released in 2004.

Biography
From 1989-1994, she studied at the University of Television and Film Munich. Her 1993 practice film Abgeschminkt! was shown in theatres all over Germany and attracted 1.2 million visitors. The project had been rejected by several producers that had not believed that a one-hour film could become a commercial success.The 1997 film Bandits starring Katja Riemann was also a commercial success and was the winner of the Grand Prize at the 10th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival held in February 1999.
In 1999, she was a member of the jury at the 49th Berlin International Film Festival.
In 2002, she directed in the United States for the first time. The resulting movie Iron Jawed Angels about the women's suffrage movement was produced by HBO Films and released in 2004.

Mika passe ses vacances d'été au haras de Kaltenbach chez sa grand-mère. Il est proche de la faillite à cause de la concurrence d'un autre centre équestre : L'installation moderne menace d'attirer progressivement tous les apprentis cavaliers. Sa participation à un tournoi pourrait sauver le haras. Et ainsi elle commence à s'entraîner avec son cheval Whisper pour participer à une compétition. Ce n'est qu'avec une victoire qu'elle peut éviter la banqueroute. Au cours des préparatifs du tournoi, Whisper et Mika découvrent leur intérêt pour le sexe opposé. Pour l'étalon c'est une jument grise fugitive, pour Mika le jeune Milan, qui aide Mika à l'entraînement, après l'avoir aidé à ramener la jument grise.

The film begins as Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and Lucy Burns (Frances O'Connor) return from England where they met while participating in the Women's Social and Political Union started by radical suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst and led by her daughter Christabel Pankhurst. The pair presents a plan to the National American Woman's Suffrage Association (NAWSA) to push directly in Washington for women's rights to vote nationally. They see that their ideas were much too forceful for the established leaders, particularly Carrie Chapman Catt (Anjelica Huston), but are allowed to lead the NAWSA Congressional Committee in DC. They start by organizing the 1913 Women's Suffrage Parade, on the eve of President Woodrow Wilson's inauguration.
