Deck the Halls is a 2005 made-for-television Christmas film starring Gabrielle Carteris and Steve Bacic. The premise revolves around a newly widowed woman and her young son who move to a new neighborhood and meet a marketing specialist who turns out to be more than he initially appears.
Synopsis
Holly (widow) and Ben (son) arrive to her mother's new work place. They meet Nick (Holly's neighbor) and Ben starts to believe Nick is Santa Claus. Throughout the film, Ben tries to set Holly and Nick up together so he could get his wish of bringing back his dead father. Holly and Nick are sent secret admirer letters from Ben. They both meet each other and figure out they were set up. Holly figures Ben was behind it and lectures him on how some people were not meant to be together. Ben and Nick play hockey and Ben's dog Oscar is hit by a post truck in the process. His dog is in the vet and Holly blames Nick for this incident. Many scenes later, they make up and kiss. Nick turns out to be Santa in the end with Holly and Ben watching in awe. Nick flies into the sky in a sleigh guided by reindeer. The veterinarian and Oscar arrive to the house to give the news that Oscar is fine. Holly and the veterinarian become engaged in the end.Actors

When a doctor, Nathan (Neil Patrick Harris) loses a patient on the operating table, he decides that being a doctor isn't meant for him, and he wants to give it up. He decides to take a vacation to his hometown, and stay with his father (Hugh Thompson). While volunteering at the local grade school, he meets Charlie (Angus T. Jones), a young boy who has also lost his mother, and Meghan (Rebecca Gayheart), Charlie's teacher. Charlie and his father have also just arrived in town, to work at estates doing chores. Nathan, searching for the shoes he gave his mother the Christmas she died (Even though in the "17 years later" epilogue of The Christmas Shoes he left them on her grave and walked away), learns that Charlie now has them. And Meghan, wanting to buy a house for those in need, may not be able to. Soon after his arrival, Nathan learns that Charlie is ailing from an irregular heart defect, and Meghan has cirrhosis of the liver, and will die unless she has a transplant. In the end, it is Charlie who saves her life, by giving her his liver. As a dying wish, he asks Nathan, whom he calls coach, to give her the shoes. And Robert (Rob Lowe), Meghan's friend, buys the house for her. In honor of Charlie, Meghan names the house after him.
