Dindigul Sarathy is a 2008 Indian Tamil language drama film directed by Siva Sanmukan starring Karunaas, Karthika, Livingston, Nassar, Saranya, Puja Bharati, M. S. Baskar, Periyar Dasan, Manobala, Mayilsamy and Shanumuga Rajan. It is a remake of Vadakkunokkiyantram (1989), a popular Malayalam film by Sreenivasan.

Synopsis

The story revolves around an insecure teetotaler Sarathy Raman (Karunas) who feels bad due to his dark skin (his wife Karthika is fairer than him) who is often the brunt of many jokes. Because he feels inferior to his wife, he begins to suspect her of infidelity and to think that she will one day elope with a lover. After a misunderstanding, Sarathy and his mother are estranged which further weakens the bond between Sarathy and Karthika. How Sarathy resolves his issues and gets back together with Karthika forms the rest of the story.

Raghu (Rahman), an atheist archaeologist, and his father (Vijayachander) went to an isolated village for research. During the research, his father disappears mysteriously and Raghu finds out a strange prophecy : God will come to earth on Purnima day at the Nagakali Amman temple and the people who will submerge completely under the waterfall near the Nagakali Amman temple will be cured of any disease.
