Synopsis
The film is based on manuscripts of the interrogations of Adolf Eichmann (Thomas Kretschmann) before he was tried and hanged in a prison in Israel. Eichmann recounts events from his past to a young Israeli officer, Captain Avner Less (Troy Garity), who is faced with the immense task of tricking the skilled manipulator into self-incrimination. While the world waits, Less' countrymen call for immediate execution, forcing him and Eichmann to confront each other in a battle of wills.Actors

Augustus is on his death bed. He looks back on his life to a conversation he had with his beloved daughter, Julia. The film's plot exhibits some differences from that of the novel by Ludlum. The undercover identity of Jason Bourne is simplified. In the book, David Webb, because of his amnesia, believes himself to be Jason Bourne and an assassin called Cain. In the film, the name Cain is left out. In the film, Carlos is shown to be responsible for killing Webb's wife and child, which is not the case in the novel. Alexander Conklin is accidentally shot by his own people when attempting to kill Bourne; in the novel he survives and appears in subsequent novels. In the book's ending, Carlos escapes in the confusion, whereas in the film he is gunned down at the last moment by Bourne/David Webb. Because Carlos is the primary antagonist of the original Bourne trilogy (although only The Bourne Supremacy had been published when the film was produced), this essentially ends the story with one film.

TV reporter and former star athlete Mickey Almon is covering a World athletic event in Moscow when he is arrested by the KGB after being approached by a scientist wanting him to smuggle secret information out of the Soviet Union. Almon is imprisoned and interrogated over several days by prison official Bukovsky who ultimately forces him to confess to being a spy for the United States. Though promised with release for doing so, Almon is instead transported to a railway station and placed aboard a train on a Stolypin prison car with other political prisoners bound for a labour camp near the Arctic Circle.

In September 1939, Władysław Szpilman (Adrien Brody), a Polish-Jewish pianist, is playing live on the radio in Warsaw when the station is bombed during Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland which caused the outbreak of World War II. Hoping for a quick victory, Szpilman celebrates with his posh family at home when learning that Britain and France have declared war on Germany. German troops soon enter Warsaw and the Nazi authorities implement measures to identify, isolate, financially ruin and reduce the Jewish population in Warsaw.
