The film, which went on nationwide general release across Turkey on 27 November 1998 (1998-11-27), was a major box-office success and launched the film career of its star.
Synopsis
After a series of unsuccessful business ventures, Altan spends his time doing nothing until his wife Ayla leaves him. He plans to win her back with a new business venture - a bar. One night he bumps into his brother Nuri whom he hasn't seen for years and who works in a pharmaceutical warehouse. Altan sees a way to make some money and before long the brothers are involved in a dangerous game. Altan remains optimistic in spite of everything that happens to them, but Nuri is a fatalist. Together, they struggle for survival, hoping that everything will be great, or better still, superb.Actors

The mayor (Altan Erkekli) of a small village in Southeastern Turkey in the 70's bitterly opposes the activities of sleazy opportunist Latif (Cezmi Baskin) who runs open-air film screenings and seeks to break his monopoly over village entertainment with the introduction of the first television (called Visiontele by the locals). The mayor recruits a crazy electrician called Emin (Yılmaz Erdoğan) and some of his office staff to help him to set up a television transmitter on the highest position of the mountain. While Latif seeks to undermine his efforts by decrying television as the work of the Devil and a slap in the face of Islamic tradition. The story is based on the childhood memories of the writer-director Yılmaz Erdoğan of the arrival of the first television to Hakkâri, Turkey in the 70's.

Arif settles back on earth with Ceku after saving the planet GORA. However, his defeated archenemy Commander Logar has followed him and is intent on getting his revenge. He tricks Arif into a time machine and sends him back 1 million years into the past. After a series of adventures including an encounter with a T-Rex, Arif stumbles upon a settlement of cavemen. Arif tries to teach them about modern technology, but it appears that they are being oppressed by a rival tribe and their leader Kaaya. Kaaya tricks Arif into a do-or-die football-like game that is heavily stacked against them. However, Arif uses his wits to defeat Kaaya's team and win the game for his fledgling team. The film opens in 1919, just after World War I has ended. Joshua Connor (Russell Crowe), an Australian farmer and water diviner, has located ground water on his land and is digging a well. Upon emerging from the well, he jests with his dog that his hunch about finding water was correct. Joshua returns home to find his wife, Eliza (Jacqueline McKenzie), mending boots that she says one of their sons had damaged. She asks him to read a story to their three boys and, although tired, he agrees. As Joshua reads Arabian Nights, we see that their sons' beds are empty. Joshua's three sons Arthur (Ryan Corr), Edward (James Fraser), and Henry (Ben O'Toole) served with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) at the Battle of Gallipoli four years previously and are presumed dead. Eliza, unable to cope with her grief, commits suicide. Joshua resolves to bring his sons' bodies home and bury them with their mother.
