Ferry Cross the Mersey is a 1965 musical film featuring Gerry and the Pacemakers.

The film, directed by Jeremy Summers, is one of the more uncommon artifacts of the Mersey scene, shown very rarely on television and never issued on video. It was the first to be shot on location in Liverpool after the city's emergence into the music mainstream (which had previously seen only Frankie Vaughan, Russ Hamilton, and Billy Fury as stars). For authenticity, many scenes were shot in clubs near the home of Gerry and the Pacemakers' frontman Gerry Marsden. A scene on a ferry (the Mountwood) on the River Mersey showed the docks as a backdrop. Marsden wrote nine new songs for the film which also starred Julie Samuel, Cilla Black singing "Is it Love?", Jimmy Savile, and The Fourmost. Future Doctor Who actress Elisabeth Sladen appeared in the film as an uncredited extra.

The song "Ferry Cross the Mersey" was written by Gerry Marsden as the theme song for the film.

As of March 2014, the film has never seen a commercial release. Neil Aspinall owned the rights to the movie in the past before his death.

Max Bialystock (Zero Mostel) is a washed-up, aging, and also fraud and corruptible greedy Broadway producer who ekes out a living romancing lascivious wealthy elderly women in exchange for money for his next play. Accountant Leopold "Leo" Bloom (Gene Wilder) arrives at Max's office to do his books and discovers there is a $2,000 discrepancy in the accounts of Max's last play. Max persuades Leo to hide the relatively minor fraud, and, while shuffling numbers, Leo has a revelation: a producer could make a lot more money with a flop than a hit, by overselling the shares in the production as no one will audit the books of a play presumed to have lost money. Max immediately puts this scheme into action. They will over-sell shares on a massive scale, and produce a play that will close on opening night, thus avoiding a pay-out and leaving the duo free to flee to Rio de Janeiro with the profits. Leo is afraid such a criminal venture will fail and they will go to prison, but Max eventually convinces him that his drab existence is no better than prison.

Oh! What A Lovely War summarises and comments on the events of World War I using popular songs of the time, many of which were parodies of older popular songs, and using allegorical settings such as Brighton's West Pier to criticise the manner in which the eventual victory was won.
