Sach's head becomes hard and he feels no pain. As a result, Slip enters him into a wrestling match hoping to win $1,000. However, Sach's strength has disappeared from his head. Luckily they discover that it has traveled to his finger, and he wins the match. Slip decides to enter Sach into more matches, but a rival manager wants to take control. Slip resists the offer and Sach goes onto become world champion, with his power traveling to various parts of his body, including his elbow and toes. The rival manager prevents another wrestler from fighting Sach in a charity match so that his wrestler can go against him. The boys are then kidnapped in the hopes that they will reveal where Sach's power has traveled to. The escape and Sach enters the ring, not knowing where his power is. Slip discovers that it in on Sach's derriere, and uses that knowledge to win the match.

In Philadelphia, Abigail Trent Budell (Ethel Barrymore), a wealthy resident of Philadelphia and patron of the arts, supports her soprano granddaughter Prudence Budell (Kathryn Grayson) just returning from Europe after five years of training. Her grandmother sponsors an opera company run by the famous maestro Jose Iturbi (himself) to give her chance to lead an opera. They hire the also famous tenor Guido Russino Betelli (Thomas Gomez), but Prudence does not feel comfortable with him on the stage. In wartime England during the Blitz, Stephen Neale (Ray Milland) is released from Lembridge Asylum. While waiting for a train to London, Neale visits a village fête hosted by the Mothers of Free Nations charity. He guesses the weight of a cake for a shilling, and is urged to go to the palm reader's tent to have his fortune told by Mrs. Bellane (Aminta Dyne), an older woman. He asks her to ignore the past and tell the future, which startles her. She cryptically tells him to take another guess at the weight of the cake at 4 pounds 15½ ounces. Neale does so and wins the prize. Then a young blond man hurries to see Mrs. Bellane. People try to persuade Neale to give the cake to the blond man, but he refuses.
