Synopsis
Portrait au noir d'un usurier passionné d'argent au point que l'entassement de l'or devient une folie obsessionnelle. Gobseck, qui a d'abord exercé tous les métiers, tient dans ses mains le destin de maints imprudents aristocrates, comme les filles du père Goriot (Delphine de Nucingen et Anastasie de Restaud) ; mais aussi de leurs enfants ; le mariage d'Ernest de Restaud avec Camille de Granlieu dépend de la façon dont maître Derville va réussir à négocier l'héritage d'Ernest, encore dans les mains de l'usurier. Gobseck, finalement écrasé par ses montagnes d'or, ses entassements de richesses, meurt dans la solitude, la pourriture et la saleté, comme un animal sauvage.Actors

Aging, respected commander Paul Blanchard (Heston) is on his final submarine tour before promotion to command of a submarine squadron (COMSUBRON). Surfaced and returning to port, the submarine, USS Neptune, is struck by a Norweigian freighter in route to New York in heavy fog, and sinks to a depth of 1,450 feet (442 meters) on a canyon ledge above the ocean floor. A United States Navy rescue force, commanded by Captain Bennett (Keach), arrives on the scene, but Neptune is subsequently rolled by a gravity slide to a greater angle that does not allow the Navy's Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) rescue submarine to complete its work.

Vikas Chandra (Vinod Mehra) and Aarti (Rekha) have recently married, and they move into their new apartment. One day they go out to watch a late night Hindi movie at a local cinema theatre. The movie gets over well after midnight, and as no cab is found this hour, they decide to walk home by foot. On the way, they are suddenly waylaid by four men, who assault Vikas, leaving him unconscious, and forcibly take Aarti with them. When Vikas regains his senses he finds himself in hospital with a head wound. He is informed that Aarti is in the same hospital, after being gang-raped and assaulted. This incident makes headlines in the media, and is also a subject of discussion by politicians during their election campaign. Vikas feels haunted by this incident, and does not know how to act further. Aarti, on the other hand, has been completely traumatised, and is unable to trust any male. Now the couple faces a serious crisis leading to a loveless relationship, and only a miracle can bring the old spark back into their married life.

Raoul (Gérard Depardieu) and his wife Solange (Carole Laure) are eating in a restaurant when Raoul expresses concern with Solange's apparent depression, as she eats little, suffers migraines and insomnia and also sometimes faints. He finds another man in the room, Stéphane (Patrick Dewaere), to be her lover and hopefully enliven her again. Stéphane is puzzled by Raoul's plan but gives in to his desperate appeals for help. Automne allemand 1977, la Fraction armée rouge (RAF) terrorise la République fédérale d’Allemagne pour libérer ses figures historiques. Deux célébrations de funérailles à deux jours d'intervalle à Stuttgart ponctuent le récit. La première est l'enterrement du patron des patrons, exécuté par les terroristes de la RAF après la nuit de la mort de leurs leaders retrouvés suicidés dans leurs cellules de Stammheim quelques heures après l'annonce de la libération des otages du détournement du Landshut. La seconde est l'enterrement des suicidés de Stammheim sous haute surveillance policière. In order to improve their lifestyle, village near Badaun, based Ghulam Hasan (Farooq Shaikh) decides to re-locate to Bombay, on the insistence of his close friend Lalulal Tiwari (Jalal Agha). He leaves behind his ailing mother and wife (Smita Patil). Lalulal helps him get a job cleaning taxis. Ghulam subsequently learns how to drive, and is hired to drive a taxi. In spite of his best efforts, he is unable to save enough money to visit Lucknow.
