Goodbye, Raggedy Ann is a 1971 television film starring Mia Farrow, Hal Holbrook, John Colicos, and Maxine Stuart in which Brooke Collier (Farrow) is an unstable Hollywood starlet who still clings to her ragdoll like a child despite the rising amount of very adult problems in her life - her career has stalled, she’s having an affair with a married man (Flanders), and she suffers violent, irrational mood swings. In an attempt to rebound from her life’s failings, she accepts a marriage proposal from a millionaire (Colicos). Throughout all of her internal, and occasionally external conflicts, her only friend is a frustrated writer and neighbor, Harlan Webb (Holbrook).

After his defeat at the Battle of Waterloo and surrender to the British Empire, Napoleon Bonaparte is delivered into exile and imprisonment on St. Helena, setting the scene for a psychological character study of the fallen Emperor and those upon the island with him as he rakes over the ashes of his career. When an old man (Sebastian Cabot) spies the department store Santa Claus get drunk before taking part in the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, he immediately locates and complains to Karen Walker (Jane Alexander), the parade director. She promptly fires her Santa Claus and the old man, who turns out to be named Kris Kringle, volunteers to take his place for the sake of the children. The movie, following the plot of the book by the same name, starts with young teenager Claudia Kinkaid (Sally Prager) feeling unappreciated at her home in New Jersey, so she decides to run away, taking along her younger brother Jamie (Johnny Doran). They run away to New York City, and end up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They stay in the museum for several nights, sleeping in beds featured in the museum, hiding from museum guards, and bathing in the fountain. For money, they grab coins out of the bottom of the fountain and use them to get food out of the vending machine. Eventually, Claudia finds a statue of an angel she believes was carved by Michelangelo, so she decides to find the previous owner of the statue. This owner, named Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler (Ingrid Bergman), tells Claudia and Jamie that she will leave them the secret of the angel statue in her will if they give her a full account of their adventure, and then has her driver take them home.

Alors que d'autres personnes viennent dans et hors de la vie de Paddo, de son ami taciturne trappeur au Tinker local, il est le fils de Willie Paddo souffrant de son handicap qui fait la différence dans la vie de son père.
