The film's art direction was by Kurt Dürnhöfer and Max Heilbronner. The film's popularity made Gaal an international star. However the rise of the Nazi Party to power meant that the Jewish Gaal had to make her next films in Hungary and Austria.
Franz Waxman's song "Greetings and Kisses, Veronika" written for the film became a major hit and helped boost Waxman's career as a songwriter.

Toni, la fille de Paulsen, un riche propriétaire d'hôtels, est à la recherche d'un homme qui ne veut pas d'elle que pour l'argent. Un jour, son père décide de faire une croisière dans le sud de l'Europe pour inspecter ses établissements et prend Toni. Habillée comme un garçon de cabine, elle rencontre le jeune Bert Reno qui possède aussi un hôtel sur la côte. Les choses se compliquent quand vient M Neubauer, un amour de jeunesse du père de Toni. Par coïncidence, tout le monde se retrouve à l'hôtel de Reno. Rapidement Paulsen se rend compte que sa fille travaille ici mais cache sa réaction.

Meyer, an ambitious young Jewish man, tries to pass himself off as a successful business tycoon in order to marry into an upper-class family. He has impressed the girl's father of his suitability but the daughter shows her reluctance to marrying him because she is in love with another man named Walter. Meyer mistakenly advises Walter to elope with his secret girlfriend, without realising he is sabotaging his own dream of marrying her. In the end Meyer happily settles down with his secretary who has always loved him.
