The movie finished production in 1982, but was not publicly screened in Iran until 1998. The movie was filmed in Italy (filling in for Washington, D.C.) and Ghazali Cinematic Mini-City in Iran.
Synopsis
Hajji Hossein-Gholi Noori, an influential Qajar politician is sent by Nasereddin Shah to the United States of America during the time of President Andrew Johnson to serve as Iran's ambassador. Once in America Hajji hires a number of employees but soon finds himself missing his family and finding his work unrewarding considering there are very few Iranians in America at the time.Actors

The film follows a character known as The Cinematographer (Mehdi Hashemi), who is looking for someone called Atieh (Future). As he calls out to her, he is magically transported back in time from the early twentieth century to the reign of Naser al-Din Shah in 19th century Iran. Captured by the Shah's guards, he shows films from the (future) history of Iranian cinema to the Shah (Ezzatolah Entezami). The Shah is entranced and eagerly shows his family the apparently magical medium.
