Synopsis
Emily Walters est une femme américaine vivant en Angleterre. Sa vie est compliquée depuis la mort de son mari Charles. Cependant, elle fait un jour la rencontre d'un mystérieux homme dans le parc londonien d'Hampstead Heath. Donald Horner habite dans une cabane au milieu de la nature et revendique son droit à la propriété face à la justice anglaise. Une histoire d'amour naît progressivement entre lui et Emily. Elle va alors tout faire pour empêcher l'expulsion de Donald. Le film s'inspire de la vie du squatteur anglais Harry Hallowes.Actors

Divorced American Harvey Shine writes jingles for television commercials, a job not in keeping with his one-time aspiration to be a jazz composer and pianist. His position at work is tenuous as he departs for London to attend his daughter Susan's wedding. Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport, he encounters Kate Walker, a single Londoner who collects statistics from passengers as they pass through the terminals. The film opens with a montage of images of Manhattan and other parts of New York City accompanied by George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, with Isaac Davis (Woody Allen) narrating drafts of an introduction to a book about a man who loves the city. Isaac is a twice-divorced, 42-year-old television comedy writer dealing with the women in his life who quits his unfulfilling job. He is dating Tracy (Mariel Hemingway), a 17-year-old girl attending the Dalton School. His best friend, college professor Yale Pollack (Michael Murphy), married to Emily (Anne Byrne), is having an affair with Mary Wilkie (Diane Keaton). Mary's ex-husband and former teacher, Jeremiah (Wallace Shawn), also appears. Isaac's ex-wife Jill Davis (Meryl Streep) is writing a confessional book about their marriage. Jill has also since come out of the closet as a lesbian and lives with her partner, Connie (Karen Ludwig).
