Harischandraa is a 1999 Telugu Romance film, directed by Thulasi kumar. The film starred J. D. Chakravarthy and Raasi in lead roles. It was remake of Tamil film which has same titled Harichandra which starred Karthik Muthuraman and Meena Durairaj in the lead roles.
Synopsis
Harishchandra falls in love with Nandini at the first sight. In order to impress her, he lies to her that he does not drink, smoke or even eat non vegetarian food. Soon he is caught red-handed and she Nandini forgives him. Now enters another girl in the scene and Nandini assumes that Harishchandra has an affair with the girl. What will happen now?Actors

Chandra Shekhar aka Chandu (Nitin) is a daredevil youth and is a fearless boy. Once he comes across a beautiful girl Nandu (Hansika Motwani), daughter of a dreaded factionalist Peddi Reddy (Suman). Soon he loses his heart. He starts teasing her and wants to prove that he is sincerely loving Nandu. He tells Nandu that he could do anything for her. Then the latter tells him that he should not follow her until she calls him. In order to grab her attention, he sends his father (Chandramohan) and mother (Pragati) to express his love and let her know that they too encourage him instead of trying to divert his attention from love. Later Nandu realises that she too is truly loving him. At this juncture, Jayaprakash Reddy (Jayaprakash Reddy) goes to Peddi Reddy for an alliance for his brother's son Veera Pratap Reddy (Saleem Baig). Peddi Reddy refuses to marry Nandu with Veera Pratap Reddy. This flares up the factionalism between the two. At a time when Nandu wants to express her love to Chandu, she is taken away by her father to their village. The climax deals as to how the two meet and how the success of their love turns up.

Sasi (Jagapathi Babu), a professor of biology at Harvard University of the US, makes a comeback to his native place. He makes an attempt to settle in life for which he prompts a couple of alliances. Afresh, Sasi enters a college as a lecturer in biology, in the principal. The rest of the story is all about how Sasi makes Sailaja fall in love with him again.

Karthik is a rich post graduate from ISB who completes his studies and comes back to India after a world tour. One fine day, he spots Nandana and falls head over heels for her. However Nandana develops hatred for Karthik because of few circumstances. When Karthik proposes to her, she rejects him point blank. Karthik's maternal uncle Pandu returns from Dubai and because of his hatred towards Karthik, he plans to take revenge by letting Karthik's parents arrange a bride for marriage against his wishes. The bride accidentally turns out to be Nandana and Karthik accepts to marry her. She is not interested but she can't oppose her father because of her love towards her father. When she tries to reject the marriage, both of their parents complete the procedures and they are pronounced engaged.

Finally husband realizes the importance, sanctity of the marriage and apologizes to the wife and requests her to be his wife again.
