Stanley (Partho Gupte) is a fourth grader at Holy Family school in Mumbai and is very popular among his friends. He is talented and well liked by his peers. The English teacher, Ms. Rosy, (Divya Dutta) is particularly impressed with his creativity, wit, and humour. Stanley is shown with a bruised face in the opening scene of the movie. On being questioned about it by Ms. Rosy, he concocts an elaborate story, much to her amusement. His humorous essays and offhand poem recitations make him her favourite in class. However his imagination is not always rewarded (his science teacher (Divya Jagdale) rebukes his attempt at constructing a light house as part of the class project since it does not adhere to the topics covered in class).

The film revolves around a family of four – a young civil engineer Shekar (Raghuvaran), his wife, Chitra (Revathi), and their two young children named Arjun (Tarun) and Anu (Shruti). The movie opens with Chitra giving birth to her third child, but unfortunately the daughter is stillborn. Two years later, Shekar and his family move to a new apartment complex. The family seems to have moved on from their grief due to the stillborn child incident and live happily. After a few altercations with the kids in the colony, Arjun and Anu are accepted by all the kids as their own. The kids are all for pulling pranks and generally causing a clamor around the apartment colony. One such constant joke they play on a mentally retarded ex-watchman (Janakaraj) of the colony, much to the chagrin of his wife. Le connétable Thibault fait emprisonner le poète vagabond François Villon, lorsqu'il apprend que ce dernier est au courant de la conspiration qu'il mène avec le Duc de Bourgogne pour renverser Louis XI. Katherine, la pupille du roi, rend visite à Villon et, apprenant son histoire de trahison, le fait libérer pour qu'il puisse avoir des preuves de ses accusations. Pour cela, Villon se rend à la taverne qui est le siège du complot et y récite son poème "Si j'étais roi" (If I were king). Le roi, qui était dans la taverne sous un déguisement, décide de nommer le poète connétable à la place de Thibault, qui a déserté pour rejoindre les Bourguignons. Mais le roi lui impose une semaine pour gagner l'amour de Catherine, à défaut de quoi il sera pendu. En sept jours, Villon bat l'armée du duc, déjoue un complot contre le roi. À la fin de la semaine, il est en train de bravement monter sur l'échafaud quand Katherine lui proclame son amour et ainsi le libère.
