Synopsis

Jeff Howard et son ami, Mike, vendent leur ranch et dépensent tout leur argent pour acheter des terres à Hawaï. Mais sur place ils comprennent que le vendeur, J.P M'Tigue les a escroqués. Ils trouvent un emploi au ranch Harrington, et se trouvent de nouveau confrontés à M'Tigue qui veut empêcher Harrington de mener à bien sa transhumance pour l'étrangler financièrement.

The storyline revolves around Lou Gehrig playing himself, who decides to give up baseball in New York for the life of a western cattle rancher. Once at the ranch, Gehrig encounters a protection racket preying on the ranchers by extortion and violence. The Hartford Transcontinental Railroad is attempting to build a railroad through "Hell's Gate Pass". However, King Carter, the self-appointed ruler of the land beyod the pass, does not want this to happen. He sends henchmen, including local Indians, to disrupt the construction anyway they can, from sabotage to kidnapping Claire Hartford, the daughter of the company President. The President's assistant, Jeff Ramsay, and his sidekicks, stop King Carter's schemes at every point and eventually defeat him entirely. This opens the area up to new settlers, the first of which is Jeff himself and his new wife Claire.

The plot is a variation on the standard B-Western "Land Grab" plot: Gold has been discovered in the area and gambler Jim Rodney intends to make sole claim to it by pushing the rightful owners off the land and taking it for himself. To do so he has his henchmen kill an Indian woman, provoking attacks from her tribe. This brings Buffalo Bill and the United States Cavalry into the town. Buffalo Bill proceeds to defeat Rodney and his schemes.
