Synopsis
Jeff Mathews, an American businessman, is involved in a car crash in Bangkok, Thailand. When he wakes up in a hospital, his nurse, Choi Luang, informs him that his wife Som and son Kyle have died. Inexplicably, Mathews can feel no grief for his loss. Disturbed by his lack of emotion and apparent hallucinations that plague him, he seeks help from Luang. She brings him to her psychic aunt, who informs him that she believes his soul has been separated from his body. Although she can not help him, she refers him to Warren Mills, an American spiritualist who has experience with reconnecting souls. Mills, who believes the necessary ceremony is too dangerous, is initially reluctant to get involved but eventually agrees to help. Mills explains that Mathews must cross a dangerous passage guarded by demons and maintain his concentration during a critical ceremony in which he will be tempted. However, Mathews abandons the ceremony when he discovers that his family is threatened by the demons. Mills takes over for him, and Mathews crosses over to the afterlife in order to save his family. Mathews successfully leads his family out of danger and reunites with his lost soul.Actors

After two strip club workers disappear and are found dead later on, a team of reporters unearth a mysterious tape which shows the women being followed and later murdered by the camera man. After investigating the cases further, the reporters on the team become targeted by the murderer and have other chilling tapes sent to them. The team are joined by the host of the hit television show American Crime, who assists them on their journey to uncover the true murderer, as a man was already sent to jail for the killings. With a disbelieving sheriff ignoring the case, the reporters must solve the crime themselves before they themselves are killed.

Adam, a young photographer, awakens in a filthy bathtub. He gets out and finds himself chained to by one foot to a pipe in a large dilapidated bathroom. Lawrence Gordon, an oncologist, is chained by one foot to a pipe across the room and between them lies a corpse, holding a revolver and a microcassette recorder. Adam manages to retrieve the recorder and they learn from tapes in their pockets what they must do: Adam must escape the bathroom, and Lawrence must kill Adam before six o'clock, or his wife and daughter will die and he will be left to die as well. Using a clue from the tape, Adam finds a bag in the toilet tank containing two hacksaws, though neither is able to cut through their chains. Adam's saw breaks and he throws it at a mirror in frustration. Lawrence realizes the saws are meant to be used on their feet and identifies their captor as the Jigsaw Killer, whom Lawrence knows of because he was once a suspect.

Megan Paige (Eliza Dushku) is an investigator for the Rochester Police Department investigating the murder of a young girl named Carla Castillo. Her body was found in the nearby village of Churchville, New York with white cat hair on it. The film follows Jane (Lewis) who has inherited a rent-controlled brownstone apartment from her late aunt, and, despite her boyfriend Greg's (Hurt) appeals, has decided to move in and live on her own for the first time.
