Hellsinki (Finnish: Rööperi) is a 2009 Finnish film directed by Aleksi Mäkelä. The film is based on the novel Rööperi – rikoksen vuodet 1955–2005 by Harri Nykänen and Tom Sjöberg. Hellsinki follows the journey of two criminals, Tomppa and Krisu, in Punavuori (in slang Rööperi), a neighbourhood in Helsinki, from the mid-1960s to the late 1970s.

Hairy and rowdy trolls called rolleys sail to a land inhabited by more peace-loving elves. When the rolleys arrive to the elf village, they scare the elves away and settle down in the village. One of the elves, Milli, a brave elf girl, returns to the village to make a peace with the rolleys. The rolleys do not warm to Milli's peace proposal, but she becomes friends with a rolley called Rölli. It becomes their mission to solve the conflict between the elves and the rolleys.

The sequel takes places a couple of months after the events of the first film, and follows the story of Niko, who must deal with his mother Oona getting re-married and thus, he gains a stepbrother named Jonni, whom Niko hates at first. Jim Terrier (Sean Penn) is a former special forces soldier who, in his 50s, has become a black-op mercenary. He is part of a team deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2006, under the cover of providing security to local projects. During this period, even though civil war has wracked the country, large multinational mining companies continue to profit from the country's mining industry. After the Minister of Mining announces his plans to declare contracts with the mining companies unjust and renegotiate the terms, the mining companies hire Jim's team to assassinate the Minister, to ensure their access to the rich mineral resources. Jim delivers the fatal shot from a sniper rifle and flees from Africa, leaving Annie behind. After that, Jim retires from his mercenary career.
