Il s'agit de l'adaptation du roman Männer müssen so sein de Heinrich Seiler. Arthur Maria Rabenalt en avait déjà fait une adaptation en 1939, La Femme aux tigres.
Le Cirque Busch sert de décor.
Synopsis
Ruda est un dompteur, mais aussi un homme séduisant, il est adoré par de nombreuses filles. L'une d'elles est la danseuse Beatrix. Elle aimerait apparaître avec lui dans la cage des tigres ; mais il se moque d'elle parce qu'il pense que son désir est imbécile. Néanmoins il se sent flatté par l'affection de Béatrice. Cependant il quitte le lendemain, comme il n'est pas engagé par le directeur Lanzheim, sans dire au revoir à la danseuse, elle se sent profondément offensée. En même temps, Ruda suscite l'ambition de la fille par son comportement.Actors

Lewis plays a washed-up German circus clown named Helmut Doork during the beginning of World War II and the Holocaust. Although he was once a famous performer who toured America and Europe with the Ringling Brothers, Doork is now past his prime and receives little respect. After Doork causes an accident during a show, the head clown convinces the circus owner to demote Doork. Upon returning home, Doork confides his problems in his wife Ada, and she encourages him to stand up for himself. Helmut overhears the circus owner agreeing to fire him after the head clown issues an ultimatum. Helmut is distraught. He is arrested later by the Gestapo for ranting about Germany and drunkenly mocking Adolf Hitler in a bar. Following an interrogation at the Gestapo headquarters, he is imprisoned in a Nazi camp for political prisoners. For the next three to four years, he remains there while hoping for a trial and a chance to plead his case.

Après avoir fait le conservatoire de piano, la jeune Helga Lindenberg s'en va à Athènes auprès de son petit ami, le Dr. Klaus Weinert, qui fait des recherches avec son père, le Dr. Lindenberg, à l'Institut biologique. Elle a hâte de ces quelques jours avec Klaus et ne sait pas que les deux hommes doivent travailler sous la pression de l'assistante Angela Brinkmann qui mène certaines recherches pour les présenter au Congrès biologique à Rome dans dix jours. Klaus est tellement absorbé par son travail qu'il ne semble pas à l'heure à l'aéroport pour prendre Helga. C'est le chanteur Mario qui lui sert de taxi. Le père de Helga et Klaus tentent de rendre le séjour de Helga parfait. Ils vont dans un bar où Mario chante. Le jour suivant, les hommes travaillent tandis que Helga se balade dans Athènes le jour de la Saint-Georges. Bien que Klaus lui ait promis de lui montrer l'Attique, il ne peut le faire, car il doit faire une plongée sous-marine qui n'était pas prévue. Helga en profite pour revoir Mario. Quand elle rentre à la maison dans la nuit, elle refuse d'expliquer son absence à Klaus.

Royal Circus, owned by Govindan (T S Raju), is on rocks. With the help of his manager Khader (Mamukkoya), Govindan just manages to run the company, though not in a satisfactory manner. All the members of the troupe live as a family, sharing intimate bonds of love and camaraderie. Abookka (Bahadoor), once a clown, has turned insane. As he still insists on putting up the make-up and entering the ring, he is caged, when the show goes on. Babu (Dileep), the favourite of the troupe is the clown of Royal Circus. Abooka has trained him to become the perfect clown. And he has learned the perfect art of masking his sorrows behind the clown's ever laughing mask. He has been there in the troupe ever since his childhood, looking after the other children, especially Govindan's daughter Kamala (Manya). Govindan has always been saying that Babu is to be his heir and is to marry Kamala. And of course Babu, deep in his heart, has feelings of love for Kamala.The movie takes a turn when Sudheer Misra (Nishanth Sagar), the young son of Padmini (Reena), a former member of the troupe makes his entry into the camp. Sudheer's arrival marks the beginnings of change. He steers the company out of its crisis and gives it a new form and name as New Royal Circus.

Tito (Lon Chaney), a traveling circus clown, finds an abandoned child. Tito adopts her and raises her as his daughter, naming her Simonetta after his brother Simon (Bernard Siegel).
